Ceasefire Announced Between Thailand and Cambodia

Donald Trump just turned a quick trip to Scotland into a global headline machine.

In the span of 48 hours, he secured what European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the “biggest trade deal ever” between the U.S. and the EU and brokered an “immediate and unconditional ceasefire” between Thailand and Cambodia — a conflict that, according to Trump, could have spiraled into a catastrophe costing millions of lives.

Speaking with Breitbart News from his Turnberry resort, Trump laid out how he used economic leverage to stop the fighting between the two Southeast Asian nations. “We were very happy we stopped the Cambodia war,” Trump said.

He described telling the leaders of both nations that pending trade deals would not move forward if the bloodshed continued. Within a day, Trump said, an agreement was reached. “Millions of people are going to be saved,” he added, underscoring the long-term devastation avoided by halting hostilities before they escalated further.

Together, the EU and the US are a market of 800 million people.

This came just one day after Trump struck a monumental trade deal with the European Union — one von der Leyen described as unprecedented in scale. Trump outlined the highlights: $750 billion in U.S. energy sales to Europe, $600 billion in American military equipment purchases, and “hundreds of billions” in additional goods.

The agreement slashes tariffs for American exporters and opens the entire EU market to U.S. competition, which Trump framed as a massive victory for American workers and businesses. “They’ve opened up the entire European Union for free trade,” Trump said. “It’s a great deal for the United States and I hope it’s a great deal for them too.”

Trump also linked the trade breakthrough to broader geopolitical stability, noting his recent success negotiating increased NATO contributions. “Even in terms of unity for the world, it would have been bad if we didn’t make a deal,” Trump said. “But we were able to do it.”
