President Donald Trump on Monday drastically cut the 50-day deadline for Russian President Vladimir Putin to come to a ceasefire deal in Ukraine.
During his meeting with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Turnberry, Scotland, Trump said the 50 days would be slashed to “10 to 12 days.”
“I’m gonna make a new deadline of about 10, 10 or 12 days from today,” Trump told reporters. “There’s no reason they’re waiting … it’s 50 days, I want to be generous, but we just don’t see any progress being made.”

Earlier in the day, Trump noted: “We thought we had that settled numerous times, and then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city like Kyiv and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever, you have bodies lying all over the street. And I say that’s not the way to do it.”
“I’m disappointed in President Putin, very disappointed in him. I’m going to reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number because I think I already know the answer what’s going to happen.”

The president also said he has no interest in discussing the matter with Putin at this point due to his duplicitous actions.
“I’m not so interested in talking anymore,” said Trump.

“We have such nice conversations, such respectful and nice conversations, and then people die the following night with a missile going into a town.”
