A tweet from the official Democratic Party X account backfired spectacularly on Thursday when it inadvertently highlighted soaring grocery prices under President Joe Biden.
The post aimed to slam rising prices during “Trump’s America” using a graph that spanned from October 2019 to 2025. But instead of proving their point, the graph showed prices spiking in 2021 — right after Biden took office.
It didn’t take long for critics to pounce. Commentator Chad Felix Greene pointed out, “You’re showing us a graph of stable prices suddenly rising the moment you came into power.”
GOP strategist Greg Price chimed in with a simple question: “Who was in charge in 2021?”
Others piled on. “Wow, 2021-2024 were pretty bad,” joked Wall Street Journal critic Kyle Smith. Author Carol Roth added, “This is not the flex they think it is.”
Even the White House’s own deputy press secretary, Abigail Jackson, responded, “They can’t be this dumb. Are they actually this dumb???”
The Democratic Party deleted the tweet shortly afterward. Fox News Digital reached out to the DNC for comment, but received no response.
Meanwhile, Democrats continue to blame Republicans for rising prices — despite inflation jumping more than 21% under Biden. A recent DCCC campaign even launched a site claiming GOP policies are behind the cost hikes. The numbers, however, tell a different story.
