President Donald Trump had some harsh words for the federal judge who is hearing the suit between his administration and Harvard University.
Currently, Harvard is looking to restore the roughly $2 billion in federal funding that it lost after the Trump administration reviewed federal grants given to institutions of higher learning, as Breitbart News reported.
The administration found that the university’s conduct violated the rights of Jewish students, particularly amid recent pro-Palestinian demonstration on campus.
The president lashed out in a post on social media, speaking to what he believes could prove to be a miscarriage of justice on the part of U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, who is tasked with hearing Harvard’s complaints.
Trump weighs in
Trump’s post to Truth Social didn’t hold back, with the president asserting that the judge is a “total disaster.”
“She has systematically taken over the various Harvard cases, and is an automatic ‘loss’ for the People of our Country!” Trump said in the Monday missive.
“Harvard has $52 Billion Dollars sitting in the Bank, and yet they are anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, and anti-America. Much of this money comes from the U.S.A., all to the detriment of other Schools, Colleges, and Institutions, and we are not going to allow this unfair situation to happen any longer,” Trump declared.
He wondered, “How did this Trump-hating Judge get these cases?”
Trump then went on to predict the eventual outcome in the case, saying, “When she rules against us, we will IMMEDIATELY appeal, and WIN. Also … and the Trump Administration will not stop until there is VICTORY.”
Pro-Harvard judge?
Burroughs already ruled in favor of Harvard last month when hearing a different lawsuit.
The previous suit challenged the Trump administration’s ability to end the university’s ability to accept international students.
The administration asserts that Harvard and other universities have violated both the Civil Rights Act and Title IV in the way they have handled anti-Israel protests on campus over the past few years.
The university is also facing additional attention from the Department of Education, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Internal Revenue Service amid Trump’s crackdown.
