Burger Chain Owner Announces Move From California to Tennessee

In-N-Out Burger owner Lynsi Snyder says she’s leaving California and moving to Tennessee as her company builds a $125 million hub in Franklin.

Snyder told podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey that raising a family and doing business in California is “not easy.” Tennessee, she said, offers more opportunity.

“We’ll still have most of our stores in California,” Snyder said, “but it will be wonderful having an office out there, growing out there.”

The fast-food chain plans to open 35 restaurants in Tennessee, starting with a Franklin location near I-65. That restaurant will sit on the site of the new eastern headquarters.

Snyder said the Irvine office will shut down by 2030, while Baldwin Park will continue overseeing West Coast operations.

The company once stayed west of Texas to keep the brand exclusive, but that strategy is changing. “A man plans his ways, but God directs his steps,” Snyder said.

Tennessee stores will be supplied from Texas, but there are no current plans for a full meat facility in the state.

Despite demand, Snyder confirmed In-N-Out still has no plans to open locations in Florida or other East Coast states.
