It turns out that the Biden administration’s U.S. Department of Health and Human Services actually coordinated with dozens of left-wing lobbyists and donors in relation to the infamous Inflation Reduction Act.
This is according to a new report from the Washington Examiner, which can be read in its entirety here.
The Inflation Reduction Act, of course, is that infamous piece of legislation that was passed by U.S. Congress in 2022 by the Democrats. What makes it infamous is that it had the exact opposite effect of its title.

“Maintained a secret chat with…”
According to the Examiner, the coordination between the Biden administration and the liberal lobbyists and donors took place via a “secret chat.”
Per the outlet:
In February 2024, Sarah Bourland, then a senior policy adviser at HHS, sent an email to representatives from an array of left-of-center organizations titled “Stakeholder Workgroup: IRA & prescription drugs,” according to documents obtained via Freedom of Information Act Request by the Public Health Reform Alliance. The email contains links to HHS talking points and material published by liberal groups praising the Biden administration’s efforts.
The outlet, however, goes on to reveal that this coordination extended “far beyond a single email.”
The outlet writes:
[There was] a private “chat” room that health officials and activists communicated through to shape the implementation of the IRA. Government officials have communicated through secure messaging platforms like Telegram and Signal.
On a side note, this proves that Signal has been widely used by government officials beyond the Trump administration. Contrast this to the recent coverage of the Trump administration’s Signal chat leak.
“A profound breach of ethical governance”
Public Health Reform Alliance Director Martin Hoyt released a statement on these findings.
Hoyt said:
The Biden administration used this stakeholder group to project the illusion of public engagement while outsourcing its policy messaging to political operatives. It is a profound breach of ethical governance and a betrayal of the American people’s right to transparent, impartial policymaking.
The Examiner provides some insight into who was invited into these private chats.
Per the outlet:
Four staffers working for the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, including its CEO, were invited to the private chat. The NCPSM’s political action committee often spends six-figure sums to bankroll the campaigns of congressional Democrats, campaign finance records show. NCPSM’s CEO also serves as the chairman of its PAC.
There are still many questions left unanswered about the situation. The truth will probably come out at some point, but, as always, it will be far too late.
