The End of Pride Month?

With June being over, Pride month 2025 is officially on the books. There was one minor but possibly significant change I noticed from previous years.

Two weeks ago Little Bob and I made a trip to the local public library here in the sapphire blue People’s Republic of Arlington, VA. I remember in years past passing through the entrance and seeing some inappropriate LGBTQ+ (Silent P) books on a table just outside the children’s section. At the time I had a number of things going on and decided that this was the year I would check to see what they were exposing the kids to and filing a complaint if they reached the threshold for exposing minors to obscene material under Virginia or Arlington law.

Although I wasn’t paying attention, I’m pretty sure they had some kind of Pride banner at the entrance. We passed by the attention grabbing table by the kids’ section and the table had… age appropriate kids books. I thought that this was interesting and thought nothing else of it until we got back to the DVD movies section, which was adjacent to the teen lit section. Where there had once been an opening between the book shelves, this time the book shelf between the anime books and the teen books had been pushed flush against the wall. Walking to the front of the teen section, and the only way into their section, showed a sign that the are was restricted to teens and older. Granted, there was no physical means to keep little kids from wandering in there, and I’m confident that if I went back there I’d find material inappropriate for teens. But that said…

An Arlington library not only did not shove any LGBTQ+ (Silent P) into children’s faces, but they made an effort to protect children from seeing them. Have they seen the error of their ways and made an about face? I doubt it. More likely, I’m reminded of a great Hawkeye Pierce quote from an episode of MASH – “What are the three basic human emotions? Greed, fear, and greed.” In this case, I believe it is fear that wins the day. Yes, just five years after The Radical Left was so confident in their power that they reveled in locking up our children and exposing them to various creeps. While we’ll never know if it was Trump’s third election that triggered it, or, more likely, the fear that the based parents were no longer fleeing but were ready to fight (depending on what numbers you look at, enrollment in Arlington’s school system dropped by roughly 10% during the lockdowns). In this case, in a county that houses too many lawyers somebody in the library system read the room and decided to not poke the Militant Normals.

So does this mean anything? Did Arlington’s library system come to its senses and decided to correct their evil ways? Knowing what we know about Democrats in general, I doubt it. Their ideology has never been one for acknowledging wrongdoing (unless they’re projecting it onto someone else, of course). I don’t doubt for a minute that they are looking for creative ways to subtly corrupt young minds, or at the very least are simply laying in wait until the time is right when they can have creeps dancing in front of preschoolers. And as we all know, the LGBTQ+ (Silent P) movement is part of the Marxists’ bigger scheme of destroying the family to replace it with the state.

But on this day, the bad guys lost. Whether it’s big or small, a victory is still a victory.
