President Donald Trump recently appeared to suggest that he has plans to clean up Washington, D.C.
The Daily Caller reports that Trump “teased” the announcement on Thursday.
This comes, as we will see, after a young congressional intern was shot and killed in D.C.
In response to the intern of a Republican Congressman being gunned down last night in D.C., Trump tells me that “D.C. has to become a very safe place” and that “we’re not gonna let anything bad happen DC.” He touts an announcement coming next week on the issue. @DailyCaller

Background
In case you missed, the shooting took place roughly a week ago. The victim was Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old college student who was interning for U.S. Rep. Ron Estes (R-KS).
Fox News reports:
Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, died after he was shot around 10:28 p.m. on the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest in Washington, D.C. on Monday night, according to police, and died on Tuesday. An adult female and a 16-year-old male were also shot and taken to local hospitals.
The outlet goes on to report on how “multiple individuals exited a car and began firing at a group of people.” It notes that “Tarpinian-Jachym isn’t believed to have been the intended target of the shooting.”
It is unclear, at the time of this writing, the condition of the other individuals who were shot.
Trump, in response to the shooting, has vowed to get justice for Tarpinian-Jachym.
“Will ensure full justice”
Following the news of the shooting, the Trump administration put out a statement vowing to get “full justice” for the 21-year-old.
The statement, in part, read:
This Administration will ensure full justice is served and is working tirelessly to end the senseless killing of innocent lives at the hands of those who seek to commit heinous acts. May God bless Eric’s memory, and may God bless and keep his loved ones.
The president provided a statement of his own when speaking to reporters.
There, he said:
I think that DC has to become a very safe place and we’re not going to let anything bad happen to DC. That’s our beautiful state and we’re not going to let anything bad and we’ll have something to say about it.
Presumably, by “we’ll have something to say about it,” Trump means that he and his administration are planning to take action. What this action might be remains unclear at the time of this writing.
