In a 2014 video, Muslims in Austria who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State openly called on Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to unleash the force of the global Islamic Ummah upon Austria and the rest of Europe. Their goal was explicit: conquer the continent for Islam.

In the footage, they focus specifically on Christian churches and speak of tearing down crosses—an act that mirrors what many Muslims in the West have celebrated in videos showing churches in the U.S. and Europe being converted into mosques.

Islam doesn’t dwell on how non-Islamic religions are destroyed—only that they must be. While there is a theological preference for violent jihad, particularly because martyrdom in battle is seen as a guaranteed path to Islamic paradise, the method is ultimately irrelevant. The end goal is always the same: Islam must dominate.

This is codified in Islamic scripture and tradition:

“The earth has been made for me a mosque and a means of purification.” — Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 335; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 521

And more directly, the Qur’an commands warfare until all non-Islamic belief is eradicated:

“And fight them until there is no more fitnah [disbelief or opposition], and religion is entirely for Allah.” — Surah Al-Anfal 8:39

The Islamic State was obvious—it declared war, flew its own black flag, and unleashed brutality in plain sight.

But today, the same objectives are being advanced across the West through more insidious means: propaganda, protest, financial infiltration, and deception.

The strategy has changed. The goal has not.
