dems are too clever by half.
One cannot peruse X without reading a democrat whine about the treatment of illegal aliens. A host of democrat mayors and governors have pledged not to cooperate with ICE and the Feds but in so doing are actually helping Donald Trump deport those who have illegally broken into the country.
MSNBC political Analyst Tim Miller claims that it’s un-American for the Trump administration to deport illegal aliens.
Was it also un-American to open our borders and let millions pour in over the last four years?
This is one of Trump’s strongest policies. Deporting people who… pic.twitter.com/1WfmiGchgc

And perhaps the most ironic one of all

There is no end to the virtual signaling going on among dem leaders who refuse to cooperate with ICE and the Feds.
NEW: A @FoxNews producer asked LA Mayor Karen Bass this morning if she would be willing to meet with ICE and if there is a deal to be made re: ICE cooperation.
Bass said the only deal is for ICE to go home, and she gave no indication she would be willing to meet w/ the agency.

The list of Mayors and Governors refusing to cooperate with ICE is lengthy:
Mayors
- Jacob Frey (Minneapolis, MN): In January 2025, announced Minneapolis would not cooperate with ICE on deportations, upholding sanctuary city policies limiting police involvement in civil immigration enforcement.
- Bill de Blasio (Former Mayor, New York City, NY): Supported sanctuary policies and called for abolishing ICE in 2018, limiting cooperation with detainers.
- Eric Garcetti (Former Mayor, Los Angeles, CA): Upheld Los Angeles’ sanctuary status, refusing city resources for ICE’s immigration enforcement.
- Karen Bass (Mayor, Los Angeles, CA): In 2025, criticized ICE raids as sowing “terror” and supported sanctuary policies limiting cooperation.
- Libby Schaaf (Former Mayor, Oakland, CA): Warned residents of 2018 ICE raids, prioritizing community trust over federal cooperation.
- Jenny Durkan (Former Mayor, Seattle, WA): Upheld Seattle’s sanctuary policies, refusing police assistance for ICE’s immigration enforcement.
- London Breed (Mayor, San Francisco, CA): Maintained San Francisco’s sanctuary policy, barring city resources from aiding ICE deportations.
- Lori Lightfoot (Former Mayor, Chicago, IL): Upheld Chicago’s sanctuary status, limiting ICE cooperation to serious criminal cases.
Governors
- Maura Healey (Massachusetts): In November 2024, vowed Massachusetts State Police would not assist with mass deportations. In 2025, criticized ICE’s lack of transparency and arrests of non-criminal immigrants, supporting due process and limiting cooperation on civil enforcement.
- Gavin Newsom (California): Signed the California Values Act (SB 54), making California a sanctuary state and limiting ICE cooperation.
- Jay Inslee (Former Governor, Washington): Signed 2019 sanctuary state legislation, prohibiting state agencies from assisting ICE with immigration enforcement.
- Andrew Cuomo (Former Governor, New York): Supported sanctuary policies and the Green Light Law, restricting ICE access to state resources.
- JB Pritzker (Illinois): In 2025, criticized ICE raids as “terrorizing” and upheld Illinois’ Trust Act, limiting cooperation with ICE detainers.
- Tim Walz (Minnesota): In 2025, opposed ICE’s aggressive tactics, criticizing Trump’s immigration sweeps and supporting sanctuary policies.
- Kathy Hochul (New York): In 2025, criticized ICE’s tactics and upheld New York’s sanctuary policies, limiting cooperation with ICE.
Congratulations to them all. They are making the lives of illegal aliens even worse. Tom Homan has repeatedly said that criminal illegal aliens are the priority. Homan has also indicated that while the focus is on criminal aliens, “collateral arrests” of non-criminal undocumented immigrants may occur during operations, particularly in sanctuary cities that limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
So, by not identifying and holding the real criminals, ICE has no alternative but to go into communities and businesses to find and apprehend the criminals. The lower priority everyday illegal alien who gets caught up in the action is then designated for deportation.
More illegal aliens will be deported and deported faster thanks to these clever democrats.
Donald Trump sends his thanks.
