President Donald Trump has been utilizing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to great effect to locate and apprehend illegal aliens in the U.S., but Democrats and leftist activists, with help from their media allies, are doing everything they can to obstruct and thwart those efforts to enforce existing immigration laws.
CNN recently promoted a new mobile app that allows anonymous users to report public sightings of ICE agents and operations, which prompted furious pushback and accusations of criminal interference from multiple Trump administration officials, according to the Daily Mail.
One top White House advisor accused CNN of helping to “sabotage” ICE operations, while another senior official called for a federal investigation of the network, and the agency’s director warned that CNN was “willfully endangering” the safety of ICE agents by promoting the subversive app for smartphones.
Network highlights app to report sightings of ICE operations
CNN reported Monday on a newly launched mobile app for iPhones known as ICEBlock, which was created by a tech developer who describes himself as “proud Antifa,” and bills itself as “an innovative, completely anonymous crowdsourced platform that allows users to report Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity with just two taps on their phone.”
Following dubious allegations that ICE engages in “civil rights abuses” and fails to “adhere to constitutional principles and due process,” the website noted that the app is similar to the popular traffic incident reporting app Waze, “but for ICE sightings,” and insisted that the anonymous nature of the program ensured that it was “impossible to trace reports back to individual users.”
The ICEBlock website shared a clip of the CNN report and concluded that the app “empowers communities to stay informed about ICE presence within a 5-mile radius while maintaining their anonymity through real-time updates and automatic deletion of sightings after four hours.”
CNN should be investigated for promoting subversive anti-ICE app
White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller shared a clip of the CNN report on his X account and wrote, “CNN is openly helping invaders and insurrectionists sabotage ICE.”

Also complaining about the CNN report on the ICEBlock app was White House Border Czar Tom Homan, who suggested the network deserved to be investigated for “promoting” the obstruction of government operations and said, “I’m hoping DOJ steps in here and sees if they crossed that line, impeding federal law enforcement officers,” according to the Daily Mail.
Incitement of violence against ICE agents
In a statement posted to his X account, ICE Director Todd Lyons said, “CNN’s promotion of an ‘ICE spotting’ app is reckless and irresponsible.”
“Advertising an app that basically paints a target on federal law enforcement officers’ backs is sickening,” he continued. “My officers and agents are already facing a 500% increase in assaults, and going on live television to announce an app that lets anyone zero in on their locations is like inciting violence against them with a national megaphone.”
“CNN is willfully endangering the lives of officers who put their lives on the line every day and enabling dangerous criminal aliens to evade U.S. law,” Lyons added. “Is this simply reckless ‘journalism’ or overt activism?”
Also commenting on the matter, per the Daily Mail, was White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who acknowledged that she hadn’t yet seen the CNN report for herself but, based on what she’d heard from others in the administration, said, “Surely, it sounds like this would be an incitement of further violence against our ICE officers.”
“We’ll take a look at it, but certainly it’s unacceptable that a major network would promote such an app that is encouraging violence against law enforcement officers who are trying to keep our country safe,” the chief White House spokeswoman added.
