During a visit to Florida’s new migrant detention facility Alligator Alcatraz, Kristi Noem revealed that ICE and U.S. Marshals recently detained a cannibal who tried to eat himself mid-flight during deportation.
President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem toured the facility on July 1, located at the former Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in the heart of the Everglades. The site is surrounded by swampland, alligators, and pythons—natural barriers meant to prevent escape.
With space for up to 5,000 detainees, Alligator Alcatraz is being described as the toughest migrant detention center in the country. Supporters say it’s long overdue. Protesters call it inhumane. But with violent offenders like this cannibal being caught, Trump’s team says the message is simple: America is taking border security seriously.
