Steve Bannon tore into Elon Musk after the former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief once again aired his grievances over President Donald J. Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” in another ugly public meltdown.
A fierce critic of the president’s signature legislation, the Tesla/SpaceX CEO declared that America is a “one-party country,” which he branded the “Porky Pig Party” and called for the formation of a new third party, reigniting his ugly feud with Trump, who wasn’t pleased with the outburst.
On Monday’s edition of his “War Room” podcast, Bannon unloaded on Musk and suggested that his complaining about waste and fraud is pure hypocrisy after he failed to deliver what he promised with DOGE.
BANNON: Elon’s out there lighting up @POTUS and lighting up MAGA, calling for a third party. Not that I told you this was gonna happen, but here we are. Here’s what galls me, this is the same guy who told @realDonaldTrump he was going to get $2T in waste, fraud, and abuse cuts.… pic.twitter.com/y5eVJyQWwP

“Elon Musk is out and he’s, inot that I told you this was going to happen, but he’s out lighting up the president and lighting up MAGA and claiming it’s time for a third party,” the former White House strategist began.“And that this is, he calls it, I think, in all his maturity, the ‘Porky Pig Bill.’”
“He’s going on about the spending, hammering it, hammering it, and this is what galls me about this,” Bannon continued. “This was the guy that told the president he was going to cut two trillion dollars of waste, fraud, and abuse cuts, but then he backed it off to one trillion, and this was on an annual basis. This wasn’t over 10 years.”
“This was a trillion dollars because we asked him to make sure the question was asked very specifically, and he said it over and over again, a trillion dollars, and at the end of the day, I don’t know, folks, I know some of you fanboys said we got $160 billion, but we haven’t seen the $160 billion,” he added. “What we do have is a $9 billion rescission, and all of that is programmatic. I haven’t seen anything specifically fraud and abuse put forward from the Pentagon or anywhere.”
“If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day,” Musk wrote in another Monday post. “Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.”

Trump reacted to Musk’s reinserting himself back into the political realm in such a rude manner, suggesting that he’s a welfare queen who gets so much dough from the federal government for his businesses, that if it were cut off, he may have to move back to South Africa.

“Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE,” the president wrote in an early Tuesday morning post to Truth Social.
Trump also teased the possibility that DOGE could be directed to take a look at his former ally, adding, “Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”
