The feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk escalated rather quickly after the tech billionaire decided to tell everyone what he really thought of the president’s “big, beautiful bill.”
The breakup was fairly easy to predict, as you have two Alpha males who are narcissists and demand attention and recognition, but I never expected it to go THIS far south.
When these two got together, I had predicted the relationship would not last through the summer, but I never saw Musk suggesting that Trump should be impeached.
Danger, danger
Before I start getting roasted for saying Trump is a narcissist, well, he is, as are most politicians and high-profile billionaires like Musk.
Everything is about them. They need to be recognized. They need to be given credit. They need to be the star. And most of their lives, because of their position of power, that is what people have given them.
It is not a knock… it’s just the truth.
So, when you put two of these big personalities in a room, a fight will break out sooner or later.
The breakup was not surprising, but the escalation stunned me.
When commentator Ian Miles Cheong suggested that Trump be impeached, Musk took no time at all to respond, “Yes,” and that got me.
That came after Musk stated that Trump is featured in the Epstein files and that it is the main reason the files have yet to be released to the American people.
Those comments were the line in the sand as far as the GOP was concerned, with most Republican lawmakers, even those who have clashed with Trump in the past, rallying behind the president.
Trump is far from innocent in this, saying he would cancel Musk’s contacts with the government, and adding that Musk was wearing thin on him, as well as the president musing that he was actually the one who suggested that the Tesla CEO leave D.C..
I don’t believe that to be true, given the way Trump was gushing over Musk during his time leading DOGE as well as the fact that the president had just presented the man with a Key to the White House after he left DOGE.
Narcissists, at least in my opinion, can sometimes have the mentality of a spoiled child, and that is what we are seeing here from both parties.
My suggestion would be that they both step away from this for a few days, take a deep breath, then place a call and work it all out.
They don’t have to be friends again, but they probably should publicly apologize to each other for the darts they threw, then agree to get along without each other in the future and never cross paths again.
If Musk cares about this country as much as he says, he has to know handing the country over to Democrats will not make it better, and that is what will happen if these two don’t knock this nonsense off immediately.
