Donald Trump did wait until he saw the results of a poll that showed Nevada Republican Senate Candidate Sam Brown dominating his opponents, but Trump did eventually bestow a great honor on Sam Brown.
Trump officially endorsed Sam Brown for Senate.
Captain Sam Brown, who was severely injured by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan back in 2008, becomes the latest man to add his name to Trump’s successful history of endorsements.
In 2008, Brown was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan.
That September, Brown was supporting the multinational cooperative project of delivering a turbine to the Kajaki Dam when he and his soldiers were wounded by an improvised explosive device.
Brown and his soldiers were responding to another US Army unit that had been ambushed.
In the accident, 30% of Sam Brown’s body was burnt, and he lost his left index finger.
He was evacuated and taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The horrible series of events led to Brown earning the occasional nickname of “Burning Man.”
His recovery from the burn wounds was covered by multiple media outlets because of the experimental pain management solutions used in many of them.
Brown’s physical therapy was a long and painful process that lasted several years.
In 2011, Brown retired as a Captain from the U.S. Army.
Now, in 2024, Brown hopes to use his story and his platform to inspire others.
This endorsement from Donald Trump is going to go a long way, but Brown’s job isn’t done yet.
We’ve seen plenty of polls indicate that one candidate would win the race, only to see another person come out of seemingly nowhere to steal it.
Sam Brown would be wise to stay on guard to make sure nothing like that happens to him.
