Billionaire and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft expressed frustration with the ongoing anti-Israel protests at Columbia University.
In an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Kraft announced that he is terminating his support for Columbia University after seeing so much hate and vitriol against Jewish people on the campus.
The billionaire added that he was extremely grateful for the scholarship given to him by Columbia, “however, the school I love so much—the one that welcomed me and provided me with so much opportunity—is no longer an institution I recognize.”
“I’d never thought I’d see in America what’s happening right now. And it really pains me to see,” Kraft quipped.
“We have our holiday going on right now; it goes back to memories of thousands of years ago where negative things were happening, and the same is happening now in this great country that offered so many opportunities to our families who came here as immigrants.”
“And we have to keep it open. We can’t have this intimidation that’s filtering through all these colleges and the hate [that continues] to grow and multiply the way it is.”
Kraft added that the people in America are misguided and must be educated.
“Look at America, we’ve done research, and it shows 90% of the people in this country are good people. They just have to be educated, and we can’t have them apathetic or misguided. We have to let them know, and they have to stand up and not be silent,” the Patriots owner added.
“We have hatred and intimidation taking over,” Kraft said.
He pressed that the ongoing turmoil will affect “every group that feels marginalized, whether it be blacks, Asians, Hispanics, or gay people.”
“I’m just thinking, when I went to Columbia, it was a place where people listened, where [the] apathetic had compassion. And now we have professors, who instead of teaching how to think, they’re trying to tell our young people what they should think.”
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump whose bogus criminal trial happens a few blocks away from the university, took time to address the ongoing conflict.
For Trump, the protests are a “disgrace” and blame Biden for the chaos.
“It’s really on Biden. He’s got the wrong signal, he’s got the wrong tone, he’s got the wrong words. He doesn’t know who he’s backing. And It’s a mess.”
“What’s going on is a disgrace to our country. It’s all Biden’s fault and everybody knows it,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee added.
“He’s got no message. He’s got no compassion. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He can’t put two sentences together, frankly. He is the worst president in the history of our country.”
