Democrats Leave Americans To Pay $800,000 In Legal Fees For An Election They lost

Having the 2020 election fall in their favor, the Democrats and liberal media have suggested that conservatives and members of the Republican party who challenge the results are nothing but sore losers that need to move on. That appears to be easier said than done when it was the Democrats themselves who challenged a Congressional election in November 2020 between Iowa GOP candidate Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Democrat Rita Hart. The election would be so close that the GOP would win by only six votes. Suggesting voter fraud, and being led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats accumulated over $800,000 in legal fees fighting the results. And although they stand by the Presidential results, the true crime is that the legal fees were paid for by… the American taxpayer.

Thanks to a provision the Democrats placed inside the rules package, the American taxpayers ultimately paid for an election investigation that had nothing to do with Biden or former President Donald Trump.

The Washington Free Beacon reported, “The Democrats on the committee paid high-priced law firm Jenner & Block a total of $699,294 to lead their attempt to overturn the election results, which had already been officially certified by Iowa’s secretary of state after a recount.”

While already an expensive bill as many Americans struggle to pay for gas and food, Representative Rodney Davis (R-IL), who is a member of the Committee on House Administration, added that the price was more than likely going to exceed $1 million.

“At the end of the day, more than a million in taxpayer dollars will have been wasted on Speaker Pelosi’s efforts to steal an election in order to grow her majority. Iowa’s process was bipartisan, transparent, timely, and the outcome was never in doubt. This contest should have never been filed and Democrats on this committee should have dismissed it before a penny of tax dollars went to any law firm.”

Already mentioned above, the reason Americans are flipping the bill is due to the House rules package. Again the Free Beacon reported, “Hidden in the House rules package is a provision for ‘Further Expenses for Resolving Contested Elections,’ a one-year fund lawmakers can tap in their quest to overturn a House election they lost in Iowa. … A provision in the House Democrats’ rules package ‘authorizes such sums as may be necessary for the Committee on House Administration to resolve contested elections. Funds shall be available for expenses incurred between January 3, 2021, and January 3, 2022.”

As for why the Democrats would be so adamant to change the Iowa results, the reason could be due to the fact the party only holds an eight-vote majority over the GOP in the House.
