A group of armed black nationalists called for violence while protesting Monday outside the Hennepin County Government Center, the site of former police officer Kim Potter’s trial.
Potter faces charges of first-degree and second-degree manslaughter in the April death of Daunte Wright. Opening arguments in her trial are scheduled to begin Wednesday.
On Monday, a small group of armed black nationalists marched outside the Minneapolis courtroom while calling for violence.
“Black power! An eye for an eye! A tooth for a tooth! A limb for a limb! A life for a life!” the group of militants chanted.

The protest was organized by the Lion of Judah Armed Forces and reportedly included members of the New Black Panther Party, a “virulently racist and antisemitic organization whose leaders have encouraged violence against whites, Jews and law enforcement officers,” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The Lion of Judah Armed Forces frequently promotes Louis Farrakhan, an anti-Semite who espouses a “fundamentally anti-white theology.” Members of these groups have called for murdering white people, and one of Farrakhan’s alleged followers killed a police officer at the U.S. Capitol in April.
