What began with great promise now looks like just another dagger in the back for ordinary Republican voters as Speaker Mike Johnson has been assimilated by the swamp.
Capping off a tumultuous and ugly week in which the Louisiana Republican presided over the latest Washington, D.C. train robbery – a $1.2 trillion spending package stuffed to the gills with Democrat pork – Johnson is set to sell out America on the tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer funding for Ukraine that could be put to far better use right here in the USA.
Axios broke the news that the speaker plans to “immediately” bring the stalled foreign aid for the corrupt Zelenskyy regime to the floor as soon as Congress returns from Easter break, their latest extended vacation on the taxpayer dime.
Just cowardly, traitorous trash https://t.co/OBSd7b32GG

The outlet reported what could be a breakthrough for the Ukraine funding, citing the speaker’s colleagues who expressed optimism that Johnson, who has been the primary reason why Zelenskyy’s billions aren’t already sluicing through the Eastern European laundromat, is getting with the program.
“I just spoke personally to the speaker about bringing Ukraine aid to the floor, and he assured me: shortly after the break. Like, immediately,” a gleeful Rep. Annie Kuster (D-NH) told the outlet.
Johnson’s unwillingness to take a principled stand on the spending bill, which includes such travesties as money for “chest binders” and other transgender and LGBTQ+ goodies, left some members of his own caucus outraged.
One of them is Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) who was so angry with his betrayal that she introduced a motion to vacate the chair on Friday.
The “Republican-controlled” House just passed a $1.2 trillion spending bill that doesn’t secure our border, but funds full term abortion and transgender ideology on our youth.

The apparent flip-flop on Ukraine drew an angry reaction from other GOP lawmakers.
Ah. I see. So now House Republicans are going to put Ukraine ahead of Americans who need help – like those poisoned by their own government’s radiation. Just pathetic https://t.co/qRf5Fy6Ltf

But the odds are that Johnson won’t suffer the same fate as his feckless predecessor, Kevin McCarthy because he has a bunch of new friends on the other side of the aisle.
Several Democrats signaling they’ll save Mike Johnson — especially if he moves on Ukraine aid.

After he was elected as speaker, Johnson’s outspoken religious beliefs earned him hatred from the godless left and the heathens in the media and much praise from conservatives. But as impolite as it may seem, the question has to now be asked how much of it was sincere and how much was Jimmy Swaggert-style snake oil because it sure seems like he’s been running a big con.
It’s also worth noting that Johnson came out of nowhere after the bid by Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was torpedoed in the early weeks after McCarthy’s ouster. Was the fix already in?
Let’s face it. The money for Ukraine was never really in question because there’s really only one party in D.C., and it doesn’t represent the American people.
