Speaker Johnson hasn’t had the easiest run as his time as America’s Speaker of the House.
Although, admittedly, he does seem to be faring better than at least one person did…
California’s Kevin McCarthy.
McCarthy made it mere months before being removed as America’s Speaker of the House, and the replacement process was anything but smooth.
Eventually, Mike Johnson was installed, but the unique beginning to his tenure signaled that he was going to be dealing with many of the same issues that McCarthy had been facing during his time.
Perhaps the biggest problem that Republican Speakers are finding themselves facing is the fact that the Republican Party seems to be relatively fractured right now.
When it comes to Speaker of the House, they can’t seem to make up their mind.
When it comes to presidential nominations, there are STILL a fair number of never-Trump Republicans in Congress.
And even when it comes to their own positions of power, Republican Representatives can’t seem to agree with each other.
For example, many are speculating that Representative Ken Buck of Colorado suddenly resigned recently because he actually wanted to hurt Lauren Boebert, who is running for election in a brand new district.
Boebert, America’s favorite grandmother, claimed that Buck was giving “a gift to the uniparty” by triggering a special election.
Lauren explained it that as establishment Republicans attempting to “rig” an election she claims to be “winning by 25 points.”
“I have done my very best to stay out of this primary election,” Buck recently said, trying to shoot down the notion that he was trying to give anyone in particular an advantage in claiming his seat.
Boebert doesn’t trust him though, as she’s pretty sure that he’s one of the never-Trumpers who will do ANYTHING to damage Trump’s team.
Who do you agree with on this issue?
Buck or Boebert?
