A Nebraska mother and her boyfriend were charged last month with obstruction after the boyfriend’s dog attacked a 4-year-old girl, ripping her scalp off and breaking a cheekbone.
Little Lilliana also had torn ligaments in her neck and multiple stitches all over her body, the girl’s great aunt wrote in a GoFundMe.
The gilr’s mother, 25-year-old Danielle Stratman, reportedly hid from police and changed out of her bloodly clothes after the attack, stuffing them under a bed, according to KETV. Stratman had also been arrested for child abuse and domestic assault earlier in February and had a no contact order against her.
Stratman and her boyfriend, Greg Preister, 42 — who owned the cane corso/mastiff mix that attacked the girl — arrested on obstruction charges, and Priester also faced a variety of citations involving the dog.
While police did not immediately find the dog after the February 20 attack, KETV said the dog was voluntarily surrendered to animal control and euthanized. The dog’s tissue was tested for rabies and was negative.
