Abby and Brittany Hensel, who documented their lives in a TLC reality series, have transitioned from a duo to a trio.
Abby, the left-side conjoined twin, married Josh Bowling, a nurse and United States Army veteran, in 2021. They live in Minnesota, where the Hensel twins were born and raised.
Abby and Brittany, 34, have been living private lives since their 8-episode show “Abby & Brittany” aired in 2012. But it’s been a happy life for them in Minnesota, where they were born and raised.
The “Today” show, reported that the sisters are both working as fifth-grade teachers at an elementary school in New Brighton, Minnesota, the same town where they grew up.
Born in 1990, Abby and Brittany are are “dicephalus conjoined twins,” and share a bloodstream and all organs below the waist. Abby controls their right arm and leg, Brittany controls the left, according to the report by Today.
Their parents chose not to try to have them separated, as there was little chance either would survive. They grew up learning to do just about anything any other normal child would do, including walking, riding their bicycles, driving, and even graduating from college.
In a 2012 ABC News report, the twins are quoted as saying, “People have been curious about us since we were born, for obvious reasons. But our parents never let us use that as an excuse. We were raised to believe we could do anything we wanted to do.”
Now Abby is married, and her sister, Brittany, is supportive. After all, she goes everywhere Abby goes.
Abby’s husband, Josh Bowling has a young daughter from a previous relationship.
Bowling’s mother, Heidi Bowling, posted photos from the wedding in November 2021.
A video shared on Facebook shows the newlyweds dancing at their wedding:
On November 13, 2022, Heidi Bowling shared a photo and wrote, “Happy 1st Anniversary to my sweet son and daughter in love. Wishing you so many more years Joshua Bowling Joshua Britt And Abby . We love you.”
