A Texas mother was arrested Wednesday following an investigation in the death of her 3-month-old baby earlier this month.
But Brittney Alisha Bailey, 31, was charged only with injury to a child, related to injuries found on the dead baby’s twin sister.
Austin police were called to an apartment on March 10 for a medical call for a baby not breathing. They rushed the baby to a hospital, but the infant died five days later.
Police said they found injuries on the twin sister that didn’t appear to be accidental. Police said they were investigating the death as a homicide but have said nothing more about it, including whether further charges are forthcoming.
Bailey is being held on the injury to a child charge without bond, jail records show.
