The New York City Police Benevolent Association, a police union representing officers in the NY Police Department announced Monday they would be taking legal action against the city in a challenge to their vaccine mandate.
“This morning, the PBA filed our lawsuit in Staten Island state Supreme Court seeking to overturn the vaccine mandate announced last week,” President Patrick Lynch wrote.
“We will also be filing a request for a temporary restraining order asking the court to bar the City and the NYPD from implementing the mandate while out suit is pending,” he added.
Per Mayor De Blasio’s expanded vaccine mandate, city workers are required to show proof of having received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by Oct. 29.
Monday, thousands of NY police, fire department, emergency medical workers, and other city workers marched across the Brooklyn Bridge in their “hold the line” protest.

The NYPD and other municipal workers just blocked traffic on the Brooklyn bridge, not to protest murders, but to protest vaccine mandates.
