It has been promised to us for a while and we have seen it take place in a few different forms already, but it looks like President Trump is actually going to be launching a legitimate social media platform.
The first thing that happened with President Trump and social media following his ban from Twitter and Facebook was that he released a “Desk of Donald Trump” sort of platform where he could still communicate with his followers. But this only served as a one-way means for him to speak still and didn’t offer any solution for others.
There was a lot of talk as to whether or not he would join one of the other up-and-coming networks like Gab or Parler, but that never happened.
There was some other network that I thought was supposed to be his, but I don’t think it was and I honestly don’t even remember the name of it.
But now, it’s finally coming to fruition.
“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech,” Trump said in a statement. “We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable. I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon.”
“TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all,” he added. “I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!”
This is something that is desperately needed. We’ve got to start taking some of the leverage away from Big Tech or we’ll only become further enslaved by our media masters and censored even more.
