Caitlin Clark recorded 41 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds Monday night when she led Iowa past LSU to advance to the Final Four.
Her performance surprised former NBA player Paul Pierce. He never expected to see a “white girl in Iowa” outplay black girls on the court.
“She didn’t do this to some other little white girls in Colorado,” said Pierce on FS1. “She did this to some black girls from LSU. I didn’t expect that.”

The racialization of Caitlin Clark is profound. It’s found across the media, starting with Sheryl Swoopes and Gilbert Arenas. Over the weekend, former ESPN host Jemele Hill complained that Clark receives more media coverage than black players.
