There is no shortage of examples when it comes to Democrats blaming something on former President Donald Trump.
As Breitbart reported, the latest effort by the increasingly unpopular President Joe Biden to shift the blame to his predecessor came on Friday during a speech about COVID-19 booster shots.
“It’s going to take a year”
“Take a look at what I inherited when I came into office, when I came into office, the state of affairs, where we were,” Biden said.
Nevertheless, he talked up his own perceived ability to right the course of the nation — despite objective failures including the chaotic withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, an ongoing crisis along the southern border, and political infighting over the size and scope of massive proposed spending bills.
Although Biden sought to pass the buck to Trump, he predicted that Americans would start seeing the positive impact of his administration within a few months.
“Remember I said it’s going to take a year to deliver everything I’m looking at here,” Biden said.
Although he acknowledged that there were some things he “could have done better,” he defended his policies, stating: “I make no apologies for my proposals, how I’m proceeding, and why I think by the end of the year we’re going to be in a very different place.”
“My numbers have dropped”
He seemed to reference the current downward trend of his approval rating.
“That’s why I don’t look at the polls,” he said. “Not a joke. Because it’s going to go up and it’s going to go down. It’s going to go up and hopefully, at the end of the day, I’ll be able to deliver on what I said I would do.”
Of course, other reports indicate the president is well aware of his sagging poll numbers.
“As down as my numbers have dropped, you’ve seen that my package is overwhelmingly popular,” he said earlier this month, adding that he is a “big boy” and can handle the criticism coming his way.
In the end, it seems there was plenty in Biden’s remarks on Friday to describe as misleading or outright untruthful — but then again, that could really apply to just about any of his speeches.
