We seem to be getting closer to the time when a major factor regarding Sen. Kamala Harris will have to come out into the open. And that is, that she is not eligible for the office of the VP – or the office of POTUS either, for that very important matter. Why this issue hasn’t been addressed so far is an issue in its own right. Nevertheless, the fact is that an occupant of either of those terribly important offices in the Republic needs to be a “natural born” citizen. What is the definition of a nbc? It’s right there in the historical record, as well understood by the constitutional Framers: A nbc is a person, quote, “born in the country, of parents who are citizens” thereof. (The definition is from the definitive tome of the day on such nation-building matters, E. de Vattel’s ‘The Law of Nations’.) And that eligibility requirement for both of those offices – and those federal offices only; signifying their special importance to the Framers – STILL STANDS, absent a constitutional amendment to the contrary. Neither of the parents of Sen. Harris were citizens of the U.S. at the time of her birth. Ergo, she is not eligible for either office.
This brings up the allied issue of the ineligibility for the office of POTUS of Barack H. Obama on the same basis, of not being a special kind of citizen – a ‘natural born’ citizen. We are deep in unconstitutional territory here, now, building error on error. And either we now face the consequences of our lack of attention to constitutional detail. Or we are finished as a constitutional republic. And fully in the hands of despots. Who are fiendishly waiting for that outcome as we speak.
