DC Metro Special Police Officer Shot, Killed in Line of Duty, No Suspect Info

WASHINGTON, DC – A Metro Special female police officer was fatally shot Tuesday night in Washington, DC.

The officer, who hasn’t yet been identified, was found just after 8:30 pm in the 3300 block of 10th Place unconscious and not breathing, having suffered from at least one gunshot wound.



Police Chief Robert Contee said that the officer was on duty at an apartment complex at the time of the shooting.

The suspect vehicle was described as a white Toyota Camry with dark tinted windows, last seen driving on Wheeler Road towards Southern Avenue. There is no other suspect information at this time, but police are interviewing potential witnesses.

There are no other known injuries in this shooting incident.

There is currently a $25,000 reward being offered to anyone with information leading to a conviction.
