STOCKTON, CA – Law enforcement officials in Stockton, California, are on a rigorous hunt for at least two suspects believed to be connected to the robbery of a local ‘ampm’ gas station and murder of an employee on Thursday. The gas station, based on Frontage Road in Stockton, subsequently closed for nearly 35 hours following the tragic incident.
Police spokesperson David Scott detailed the crime, reporting that the suspects entered the gas station armed, initiating a robbery. A confrontation broke out, resulting in a 50-year-old employee, Mohammed Shahzad, being shot in the torso area. The attackers fled the scene in a car, remaining at large.
The incident sent shockwaves through the local community. Regular customer Rob Clark expressed his concern, calling the murder “tragic.” He the culprits to turn themselves into the authorities, that way, the local community avoids risking further violence.
Despite the gas station’s resumption of operations, Mohammed’s absence has deeply impacted the customers. One friend remembered him as a generous individual who was always ready to lend a hand, especially to anyone who was in need and facing hardship.
Local residents hope for quick justice for Mohammed and his grieving family, appealing for the prompt capture of the suspects.
