More than 50 American companies, including Yelp, Lyft and Ben & Jerry’s, have criticizing Texas publicly for protecting unborn babies from abortions.
The implication is that killing babies before birth is good for business, and they want it to continue.
In an open letter from the Don’t Ban Equality coalition this week, the companies described the Texas heartbeat law as “bad for business” and a “threat” to their employees and customers, The Hill reports.
“Restricting access to comprehensive reproductive care, including abortion, threatens the health, independence and economic stability of our employees and customers,” the letter states. “Simply put, it goes against our values and is bad for business.”
Companies that signed the letter included Yelp, Lyft, Ben & Jerry’s, Stitch Fix, Patagonia and Seventh Generation. Major pro-abortion groups are behind the project: Planned Parenthood, NARAL, the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Reproductive Rights, with funding from the Tara Health Foundation.

In recent weeks, a number of politically left companies have condemned the Texas pro-life law, which may save as many as 100 unborn babies from abortion every day. The law prohibits abortions once an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, about six weeks of pregnancy. It also allows private citizens to enforce the law by suing abortionists who violate it.
Apple did not sign the pro-abortion coalition letter, but it did criticize the pro-life law as “uniquely restrictive” in a memo to employees last week. The tech company also said its medical insurance plan will cover out-of-state abortion costs for employees in Texas.
Other companies – Uber, GoDaddy, Match and Tinder — also criticized Texas recently for working to save babies from abortion. The software company Salesforce even offered to help employees move out of Texas because of the law.
The companies that signed the pro-abortion letter were:

Syzygy Plasmonics Inc
Playful Studios/BetRed Stories
