The MEDIA held a RALLY in D.C. today and the Pulitzers are IN the mail. Also the Riot Cops were there!

The press swarmed Washington, D.C. today, each of them hoping for a career-making turn starring in some handheld footage as they faced down the dark forces of Trumpism in the shadow of the Capitol steps.

Intrepidly they descended to the streets from their cubicles and Ubers. They marched, not arm in arm but camera in camera and mask to mask. Brave. Stalwart. Comical.

They were joined in solidarity by the riot police, deployed by the combined wits of the Biden Administration and the Democrats who run the city. They created a blue line over which no tourist dare cross for a photo or souvenir.

No spontaneous tours of any Federal buildings broke out among the press. But if this is what it takes to ensure that America never faces mean tweets again then that is what must be.

Brave journos. Thank heavens you were here instead of the border. Or Kabul. Or Chicago’s south side. Or at riots in Portland or Seattle. Or … well you get the idea.

We, the American people salute you. But we aren’t going to watch you, if that’s what your ratings think. We can only take a salute so far.

Consider this an OPEN THREAD.
