Top immunologist now regrets vote for Biden following ordered vaccination mandate

President Joe Biden, after months of he and his administration acknowledging that they lacked such authority, announced federal vaccine mandates for tens of millions of American workers in a speech last week.

That announcement sparked incredible blowback from many Americans, including a prominent retired surgeon and immunologist who has now expressed his regret for voting for Biden in the last election, Breitbart reported.

The immunity argument

The individual is Dr. Hooman Noorchashm who, according to consumer advocacy group Drugwatch, of which he is a contributor, has practiced medicine for more than two decades and held “positions at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Philadelphia VA Hospital.”

He has also written dozens of articles and papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored chapters in medical textbooks, and has been a featured speaker at major medical conferences for years, in addition to receiving numerous awards and recognition for his work as a researcher and scientist.

In other words, he knows a little bit about the human body’s immune system, and while he has urged people to get the vaccine to reduce their risks from COVID-19, he has also been a staunch advocate for those who’ve already contracted the virus and survived to develop natural immunity against the disease.

A “McCain Republican”

“I voted for Biden … As a McCain republican. It was an error and I now regret it,” Noorchashm tweeted Friday. “Last night’s chest beating press conference by [Biden] was one of the most destructive and divisive speeches ever given by a US president who claims 2 B a well-reasoned uniter, acting on science.”

In additional tweets, Noorchashm made it clear that his main gripe was that Biden’s vaccine mandates — which would apply to all federal workers and contractors, as well as all private businesses with more than 100 employees — made no exception for those with natural immunity who, in the doctor’s learned opinion, didn’t need to be vaccinated.

“To mandate vaccination of any COVID-recovered American against his/her will is unscientific, unethical and illegal!” he added in a follow-up tweet. “@WhiteHouse U have overstepped and are operating in dangerous territory when it comes to already immune Americans. Cease and desist!”

Attacking the “unvaccinated”

Breitbart noted that President Biden, in an angry and frustrated speech delivered last week that repeatedly attacked and dehumanized the “unvaccinated,” had laid out several new steps his administration would take to combat the seemingly worsening coronavirus pandemic.

One of those steps was an order to the Department of Labor, more specifically the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), to promulgate an emergency rule requiring all businesses with 100 or more employees, under threat of significant fines, to force those workers to either get vaccinated or undergo weekly testing.

Likewise, Biden also issued an executive order mandating vaccination for all federal employees and private contractors working with the federal government.

Those orders, which will undoubtedly be challenged in court, leave no room for those with natural immunity or other legitimate objections to be exempt from the mandate, and while the increasingly authoritarian left has cheered Biden’s order, it has cost him the support of many in the middle that support vaccines but despises counterproductive government mandates.
