Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was hospitalized and underwent surgery on Sunday for a hernia according to an announcement from his office.
While Netanyahu recovers, Justice Minister Yariv Levin will serve as acting prime minister.
The pressure is on Netanyahu who has been leading Israel through an intense war with the terrorist organization Hamas after the horrific October 7th terrorist attack that killed thousands of Israelis.
While his doctors have affirmed that he is in good health, it was evident that the war and the subsequent workload have taken its toll on Netanyahu.
Last year, doctors had to treat Netanyahu for a long-known heart problem by implanting a pacemaker.
At 74 years old, his age is catching up with him and while the nation is embroiled in this war, there needs to be a conversation about who is the next man up.
