Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo is making headlines this week for her advocacy of pro-abortion messages during her concert in Missouri, where she distributed free emergency contraceptives and condoms to concertgoers.
Parents and staunch pro-lifers have taken to social media to denounce the singer for her abortion campaign. With one user accusing Rodrigo of “killing off her future fan base.”
At Rodrigo’s March 12 show in St. Louis, attendees were offered packages containing two boxes of Julie, a pill similar to Plan B, along with cards featuring QR codes linking to abortion access resources and the Missouri Abortion Fund.
Fans also shared images of complimentary condoms and promotional stickers being distributed at the event.
The pop star had previously announced the launch of the “Fund 4 Good” initiative as part of her “Guts World Tour” in a TikTok video posted late last month.
The fund aims to support reproductive health freedom for all women, girls, and individuals, Rodrigo claimed, directly backing community-based nonprofits advocating for girls’ education, reproductive rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence.
A portion of the proceeds from Rodrigo’s tour ticket sales will go toward supporting the “National Network of Abortion Funds,” an organization comprising 100 independent abortion funds that strive to eliminate financial and logistical barriers to abortion access.
Internet commenters like Holly Ash of Not The Bee are warning parents about Rodrigo’s partnerships. Blasting the pop star for promoting “genocide of the unborn.”
“The pop star is also supporting at least two state-level organizations to promote the killing of babies in the name of women’s ‘liberation,’” Ash shared. “She is supporting pro-LGBTQ groups and anti-Israel activists.”
Parents took to social media to bring attention to Rodrigo’s world tour. “The world is so confused that it believes killing babies is philanthropy,” wrote Shane Pruitt.
“As the father of a daughter, I am horrified by this,” said Bill Eigel.
“Abortion hurts women. Physical damage of course, but also psychological. Women who have had abortions have higher rates of anxiety, mental health problems, substance abuse, and suicide,” he added.
