Sources: Company that “serves” law enforcement, military tied to corruption, special favors in Biden administration

The following contains editorial content written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

WASHINGTON, DC- Law Enforcement Today recently reported on ties between White House officials and a company called WestExec. That particular company served as a conduit for some 15 senior Biden administration officials.

After our story published, we received further information from a source who told us that questionable associations in this administration goes much further.

One company briefly mentioned is called Pine Island Capital Partners, which at one time included current Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Pine Island is a who’s who of former Washington, DC deep-state swamp creatures.

Among the partners are former U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, former Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, former House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen, and former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy.

One interesting acquisition made by Pine Island last April is a company now known as InVeris. The company was formerly known as Meggitt Training Systems and marketed something called FATS (Firearms Training System) to law enforcement agencies.

We are told that was until the Obama administration.

Our source tells us that during the Obama administration, Meggitt virtually abandoned the law enforcement community, refusing to service or warranty the FATS simulators. That was when the company got involved with providing training to the United States military.

According to a release upon the purchase of the company and reported by Defense News, InVeris will continue “to work on the U.S. Army’s Engagement Skills Trainer II contract and Squad Advanced Marksmanship-Trainer program, as well as the U.S. Marine Corps’ Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer.”

The company also provided derivatives of those systems to both the Navy and the Air Force, the release said.

Pine Island purchased the company for $146 million last July, we are told in cash.

The statement said the change in name was meant “to connote trust and integrity.” Yes, a company that is a subsidiary of an outfit loaded with Washington DC swamp creatures is the epitome of “trust and integrity.”

So here we have a company teeming with former senators, congressmen and people affiliated with either the military or defense department suddenly purchasing a company with a plethora of military contracts. Not to mention the current Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense. As the saying goes, follow the money.

According to Chambliss, who is a Republican who represented Georgia and who served on both the House armed services and intelligence committees before his retirement, the fit was “natural” because of his partners’ backgrounds in the defense space. [emphasis added] Chambliss also noted that he became aware of Meggitt (InVeris) while serving as a member of Congress.

“We clearly understood at the time of the purchase back on July 1 [2020] that we were buying a company that is the gold standard when it comes to providing training for the United States military as well as to international clients in the same arena,” Chambliss said.

“Going forward, we think that clearly we have the opportunity, number one, to provide the resources to what is now known as InVeris to expand from a technology standpoint the products that we have been making for years, and to further develop and bring those products into the 21st Century.”

Andrea Czop, Vice President of Strategy, Sales and Marketing said that international sales are a “key” to growth plans

“We continue to be very active with all those international customers and we’re growing,” Czop said. “There are a lot of opportunities for us right now, and the focus is on our international strategy.”

Our source tells us that defense contracts and grants written for military and law enforcement agencies amount to billions of dollars and InVeris’s purchase by Pine Island raises questions as to whether or not they will get preferential treatment from an administration rife with swamp rats affiliated with the company.

Add to that the presence of a number of deep state former senators and house members and it is easy to be highly suspicious of Pine Island’s purchase of InVeris.

As interesting as who is on Pine Island’s website is what was conveniently eliminated from the short biography of each member.

For example:

  • Former Sen. Saxby Chambliss: doesn’t mention he is currently a lawyer in Washington, DC
  • Former Sen. Tom Daschle: 26-year career Democrat and runs a Democrat lobbying firm in Washington, DC; he is however listed as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Center for American Progress, a far-left organization affiliated with Marxist billionaire George Soros
  • Former Sen. Byron Dorgan: 30-year swamp rat once considered one of the most powerful Democrats in the Senate; law firm in DC
  • Former Rep. Dick Gephardt: House Democratic leader for 14 years, with his company boasting it “[CGA] has unique skills and experience working on federal procurement policies and opportunities for our clients. [emphasis added]
  • Former Amb. Stuart Holliday: his LinkedIn profile notes his company, Meridian International is “a close partner of the US State Department, occupies a four-acre campus in Washington, DC [emphasis added]
  • Mike Mullen, USN (Ret): Navy contacts under Bush, Obama and Clinton
  • Former Sen. Don Nickles: 24-year member of the US Senate, owns a lobbying firm in Washington, DC, a fact the bio conveniently ignored
  • Gen. Vince Stewart, USMC (Ret): 30-year’s experience in all aspects of cyberspace operations, intelligence and counterintelligence; another deep state Washington, DC insider

This whole sordid arrangement is something which bears watching, in particular the activities of Blinken and Austin. Blinken has been a longtime ally of Biden’s, having served as his national security adviser when Biden was vice president.

DIG DEEPER

WASHINGTON, DC- What swamp? We all heard former President Donald Trump speaking for years about “draining the swamp,” which led many to ask—what is this “swamp” to which Trump was referring? Well, the “swamp” is back in a big way inside the Biden administration.

An article in Breitbart lays out exactly who Joe Biden has populated his administration with, and it is a who’s who of corrupticrats.

There is a company in Washington, DC located just blocks from the White House called WestExec.

This company is populated with a who’s who of former ambassadors, lawyers and Obama appointees who have worked over the past few years working with some of the world’s biggest corporations as lobbyists and other advocates.

According to The Intercept, the Biden administration has been loaded with over 15 consultants who formerly worked at WestExec, installing them in the White House, foreign policy agencies and law enforcement institutions.

Five have been placed in high-ranking posts, while four others served on the Biden-Harris transition team. According to sources, the speed at which WestExec has been able to insert itself in the power structure of Washington, DC is mind-boggling, especially considering the firm was only launched in 2017.

“It’s a remarkable march through the revolving door,” the Intercept said, “especially for a firm that only launched in 2017.”

Does that year sound familiar? It was of course the year when the Trump administration came into power and Obama and his minions were to have sailed into history. That, however, doesn’t appear to be the case.

WestExec has managed to get its alumnus placed in senior roles within the administration such as director of national intelligence and secretary of state. More disturbing, clients of WestExec, according to The Intercept, “have controversial interests in tech and defense that intersect with the policies their former consultants are now in a position to set and execute.”

Conflict of interest? You decide, but it sure appears that way.

“WestExec’s consultants are so connected and pedigreed that they often hold down multiple jobs, appointments, and titles,” the Intercept wrote.

WestExec’s ties to the national security apparatus of the United States were addressed in the book “Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption,” written by Breitbart News’ Editor in Chief Alex Marlow.

“After Biden’s election win, the convergence of the national security establishment and the Masters of the Universe began to reveal itself.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines both worked for the consulting firm WestExec, which Blinken cofounded with Michele Flournoy, a former undersecretary of defense under President Obama. Google hired WestExec to help them land valuable Department of Defense contracts.

WestExec also had a partnership with Jigsaw, Google’s in-house think tank.”

Creepy? Swampy? It sure seems like  it. It gets worse than that. More Biden administration officials who previously worked at WestExec include:

  • Jen Psaki, White House press secretary
  • Tony Blinken, Secretary of State
  • Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence
  • David S. Cohen, Deputy Director of the CIA
  • Lisa Monaco, Deputy Attorney General
  • Chris Inglis, National Cyber Director

According to The Intercept, WestExec doesn’t “affirmatively share its clients, and public financial disclosure forms only offer broad outlines.”

Some are raising the alarm bells about WestExec’s tangled web with the Biden White House.

Kathleen Clark, a law professor at Washington University in St. Louis notes that government ethics laws, written long ago do not seem to address a situation such as currently exists with WestExec, where a single company gives rise to 15 senior administration officials.

“Yes, they’re employed by the government, I’ll grant you that. But are they actually working for the American people or not? Where does their loyalty lie?” asked Clark. “The private sector can, in essence, co-opt the public sector.”

Clark continued:

“That exempts them from public accountability, and that’s a problem because we can’t necessarily rely on internal controls and external, public disclosure.”

The White House brushed aside concerns about the apparent “swampiness” of the administration’s makeup through a spokesperson in a statement:

“These White House officials are experienced government leaders whose prior private sector experience is part of a broad and diverse skill set they bring to government service.”

The Intercept said WestExec didn’t reply to a list of questions that were submitted.

The outlet noted that WestExec has managed to secure defense contracts for tech startups, and also helped modernize defense companies’ tech capabilities. Oh, and it has also helped multinational companies gain access to China.

One such collaborator is an investment group called Pine Island Capital Partners, a defense-centered investment group. Pine Island’s team, according to CNBC at the time, included Blinken and now-Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

In a SEC filing at the time, the company said:

“We believe that with our access, network and expertise, we are well-suited to take advantage of the current and future opportunities present in the aerospace, defense and government services industries.” [emphasis added]

Access. Apparently so.

WestExec markets itself as a “unique geopolitical and policy expertise to help business leaders…defense, foreign policy, intelligence, economics, cybersecurity, data privacy, and strategic communications.”

Further, the company says they are “committed to excellence, integrity, [and] bipartisanship. [emphasis added]

The Intercept said the presence of so many former WestExec working in the Biden administration:

“…poses concerns about the potential for groupthink, conflicts of interest, and what can only be called, however oxymoronically, legalized corruption.

The outlet further noted:

‘The arrival of each new WestExec adviser at the administration has been met with varying degrees of press coverage—headlines for the secretary of state, blurbs in trade publications for the head of cybersecurity—but the creeping monopolization of foreign policymaking by a single boutique consulting firm has gone largely unnoticed.

The insularity of this network of policymakers poses concerns about he potential for groupthink, conflicts of interest, and what can only be called, however oxymoronically, legalized corruption.”

Lest anyone think this administration has any intent on reeling in big tech, you might want to think again. Blinken helped companies such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Microsoft when working for WestExec and also advised other companies such as AT&T, defense contractor Boeing, FedEx and Discovery, a media giant.

Moreover, Blinken also advised Blackstone, Royal Bank of Canada, and a multinational conglomerate called SoftBank, which has extensive business relationships with Saudi Arabia.

Blinken also advised McKinsey & Company, which serves over 90 of the world’s largest 100 corporations. McKinsey also has as its clients authoritarian regimes such as Saudi Arabia.

Blinken also brought several people who are now key staff members at the State Department from WestExec—Senior adviser Julianne Smith, who has been nominated as a permanent representative to NATO; Sarah McCool as his director of scheduling; Barbara Leaf former ambassador to the UAE who is touted to be the State Department’s assistant secretary for Near Eastern affairs; while Daniel Shapiro, who was Obama’s ambassador to Israel and who was described as a “very busy” member of WestExec is being floated as a Middle East envoy.

What of Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence? She worked with WestExec between October 2017 through July 2020 when she joined Biden’s transition team as foreign policy lead. She advised companies such as Facebook, JP Morgan Chase, and Microsoft.

Deputy Director of the CIA, David Cohen was also an early member of what is described as WestExec’s “core team” along with Blinken and Haines. However due to an exemption for spy agencies’ officials, his disclosure as to which clients he represented with WestExec are not publicly available.

Clark called this problematic.

“That exempts them from public accountability,” she said, “and that’s a problem because we can’t necessarily rely on internal controls and external, public discourse.”

In a pamphlet advertising WestExec, Blinken wrote:

“WestExec’s advisors have worked together at the highest levels of government, navigating and anticipating the impact of international crises on decision making—we can provide the same insights and strategies to business leaders around the world.”

This is the swamp President Trump warned you about. Under the Biden administration, the swamp has become much deeper. And with it our national security has been apparently put at risk.

Law Enforcement Today has previously reported on the Biden swamp. In case you missed it, here is one such report:

WASHINGTON, DC- As Sonny and Cher used to sing, “The Beat Goes on.”

On Wednesday, the Senate released a report that concluded that former Vice President and current presidential candidate Joe Biden allowed his son, Hunter, and other members of his family to use his official position in order to augment their income through contacts with foreign companies and governments.

According to the report, obtained by Breitbart News, apparently the Obama administration was aware of the likely conflict of interest which occurred when Hunter Biden was appointed to the board of Burisma Holdings, a corrupt energy company in Ukraine.

It bets better than that, however. Or worse, depending on your perspective. The report goes on to state that email evidence showed that Obama’s Secretary of State, John Kerry was also aware of the conflicts of interest. Why was that important? Kerry’s stepson, Chris Heinz, was one of Hunter Biden’s business partners.

The report says:

“Hunter Biden, his family, and [business partner Devon] Archer received millions of dollars from foreign nationals with questionable backgrounds.”

It continued that Hunter Biden had gone on a “$100,000 global spending spree with James Biden and Sara Biden” after receiving money from a Chinese investor. It should be noted that James Biden is Joe Biden’s brother, who is married to Sara.

More disturbing, it added that Hunter Biden appeared to have paid women who were linked to an “Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring.”

In fact, a left-leaning website, Mother Jones, actually went into a detailed accounting of Jim and Hunter Biden’s business relationships earlier this year. It also detailed how Jim Biden had leveraged his brother’s political power to assist him in his business ventures.

So, the information about nefarious business dealings involving the two is not only from right-leaning sources. The report was originally published by ProPublica, which is a nonprofit that investigates abuses of power. In fact, the title and subtitle of the story is informative: “The Benefits of Being Joe Biden’s Brother.”

The teaser for the story read, “Jim Biden repeatedly tapped into Joe’s political network for help with his finances and to promote his business ventures.”

The Senate report went on:

“The records acquired by the Committees show consistent, significant, and extensive financial connections among and between Hunter Biden, James Biden, Sara Biden, Devon Archer and Chines nationals connected to the Communist regime and [People’s Liberation Army] as well as other foreign nationals with questionable backgrounds.”

The investigation was reported by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) of the Senate Committee on Finance, and was launched in August 2019—prior to the impeachment inquiry.

It was launched relative to a report called the “Henniges transaction,” where a company tied to the Chinese state bought an American company that makes so-called “anti-vibration technologies with military applications.” Ironically (or not), one of the companies involved in the transaction was Bohai Harvest RST (BHR), a Chinese-funded investment company in which Hunter Biden owns a stake.

The Senate report went on to divulge “examples of extensive and complex financial transactions involving the Bidens,” while also explaining that it wasn’t only Hunter Biden who “cashed in on Joe Biden’s vice presidency.”

Even more infuriating is Hunter Biden’s jet-setting overseas had him enjoy protection from the Secret Service, which continued even after he joined the board of Burisma.

The Senate report concluded:

The records acquired by the Committees show that Hunter Biden and his family were involved in a vast financial network that connected them to foreign nationals and foreign governments across the globe.

Hunter Biden and Archer, in particular, formed significant and consistent financial relationships with the corrupt oligarch, Mykola Zlochevsky during their time working for Burisma and their firms made millions of dollars from that association while Joe Biden was vice president and the public face of the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy.

Rosement Seneca Thornton, an investment firm co-founded by Hunter Biden, received $2.5 million in a wire transfer from Elena Baturina, who allegedly received illegal construction contracts from her husband, the former mayor of Moscow.

Moreover, archer’s apparent receipt of money for a car from Kenges Rakishev of Kazachstan while Vice President Biden was in Kyiv is especially concerning in light of the timing. And finally, Biden and Archer’s work with Chines nationals connected to the Communist regime illustrate the deep financial connections that accelerated while his father was vice president and continued after he left office.

According to the report, both Joe Biden and John Kerry were notified of the conflicts of interest inherent in Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian role:

Former Secretary Kerry’s December 2019 denial of having any knowledge about Hunter Biden or Burisma is inconsistent with the evidence uncovered by the Committees. Kerry was briefed about Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Heinz the day after Burisma announced Hunter Biden joined its board.

Additionally, Secretary Kerry’s senior advisor sent him press clips and articles relating to Hunter Biden’s board membership. This appears to be yet another example of high-ranking Obama administration official blatantly ignoring Hunter Biden’s association with Burisma.

The Republican committees also slammed Democrat’s attempts to falsely link the Senate investigations to so-called foreign influence campaigns—think “Russia collusion!”

In the ultimate display of hypocrisy, Democrats, the report said, relied on foreign nationals who have an interest in influencing American politics themselves for that information.

Ironically, Hunter Biden spoke in August at the Democratic National Convention, claiming that his father would bring honesty to the White House.

All we can say is: ROFLMAO.
