Arizona Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego brought in nearly double the fundraising haul of Kari Lake, his likely Republican opponent in the state’s Senate race, over the first quarter.
The contest for the seat of retiring independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is among the most watch in the 2024 election cycle. Sinema first won election as a Democrat but later left the party. She announced in March she would not seek 2024.
Lake’s campaign said it and joint fundraising committee raised $4.1 million during the first quarter, the first three months of the year, compared to the final quarter of 2023 in which her campaign brought in $2.1 million.
Lake lost a 2022 Arizona gubernatorial bid.
