Biden delivers rambling response to question about vaccines for children

President Joe Biden recently participated in a town hall event hosted by CNN’s Don Lemon — and some of his answers might be causing his handlers to regret that decision.

At several points during the televised event, the president appeared to lose his train of thought or provide an otherwise incoherent response, including one answer pertaining to COVID-19 protocols for the nation’s youngest students.

“You’re always straight-up about what you’re doing”

According to the Washington Examiner, Biden’s rambling remarks followed the first question from an audience member.

Biden initially suggested that all students and faculty, particularly those who are unvaccinated, should wear masks while in school, citing the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He also seemed to suggest that mounting community pressure would be enough to convince unvaccinated students and parents to receive their shots.

Lemon pressed Biden on the availability of vaccines for children under 12, to which the president said they would be approved “soon,” depending on when scientists determine that it is safe.

Biden went on to offer some praise to the moderator before his answer devolved further into incoherence.

“Just like the other question, there’s a logical — and I’ve heard you speak about it because you always, I’m not being solicitous, but you, you’re always straight-up about what you’re doing,” the president said to Lemon.

“I expect that to occur quickly”

What came next left more than a few viewers scratching their heads.

“And the question is whether or not we should be in a position where you are — why can’t the — the — the experts say, ‘We know that this virus is, in fact — it’s going to be’ — or, excuse me — ‘We know why all the drugs approved are not temporarily approved, but permanently approved,’” Biden said. “That’s underway too. I expect that to occur quickly.”

His confusing response continued, only to be capped off with a provably untrue statement when proclaimed: “You’re not going to — you’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.”

A number of social media users latched on to his garbled remarks, with some describing it as uncomfortable to watch his apparent struggle to finish a complete thought.
