Police in central Florida are searching for a 47-year-old man they say stabbed his cousin more than 15 times on Thursday and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is in critical condition, WFTS reported.
Davenport police identified the suspect as Douglas Kidd. They aren’t identifying the victim because Florida law prevents it.
“This was a horrific attack, and we will go to great lengths to get his dangerous individual off the streets,” said Davenport Police Chief Steve Parker.
Police did not say what led up to the attack or provide a description of Kidd.
Anyone with information should contact the Davenport Police Department at (863) 419-3307 or Heartland Crime Stoppers at 888-400-TIPS (8477).
