UFC legend Mark Coleman is in critical condition after saving his parents’ lives from a house fire early Tuesday morning in Toledo, Ohio.
Jonathan Snowden of MMA Encyclopedia reported that Coleman’s dog Hammer woke him up to a house in flames. Unfortunately, Hammer did not make it out of the fire alive.
In fact, after getting both of his parents to safety, Coleman reportedly went in after the dog but couldn’t save him.
Coleman is on a ventilator and intubated at the hospital, pictures that were shared on Instagram showed on Tuesday.
The renowned athlete’s daughter and fellow former fighter Wes Sims asked for prayers for his recovery.
Coleman won the first-ever UFC championship and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2008.
