Former White House Secretary Jen Psaki usually protects Joe Biden in the media now that she is among the professional talking heads in the mainstream media.
Now, however, she is criticizing Joe for his stance on Israel.
Psaki believes that “something has to change” because Joe is losing support on this issue.
Changes Needed
With the Democrat Party now seemingly working its way toward being the party of terrorist sympathizers, there is resistance among voters in the party that could be a problem for Joe Biden in the general election.
In several states, we have seen “uncommitted” votes pop up that have not prevented Joe Biden from winning the primary nod, but it could clearly be a problem in the general election for him.
Psaki was on “Morning Joe” on MSNBC to discuss the current stand of the administration and what it may need to do moving forward.
Host Joe Scarborough stated, “If the president turns on Netanyahu aggressively, if the president says we’re going to stop sending weapons, then Netanyahu actually uses that to gain more power inside of Israel saying, see, we have been abandoned even by the United States, we have to fight on.”
Psaki responded, “That’s right. I think that’s important too. Clearly the strategy that the United States is implementing at this point is not working to change the behavior of Prime Minister Netanyahu, it is not working to end the war. So obviously, something has to change.”
This big pushback against Netanyahu has started to gain momentum in the party after aid workers were killed during a recent missile attack against Gaza.
I don’t want to downplay the death of civilians in any way, but let’s be serious about this because it is just an ugly fact of war.
There is a clear difference in targeting civilians, as we have seen by Russia and Hamas, and collateral damage that occurs in the normal course of a war.
Everyone is acting like the United States and Joe Biden are above this, yet the Democrat Party sat on its hand when Biden approved a drone strike that killed an aid worker and most of his family in August 2022.
Can you imagine if our allies told us they were going to pull support for the United States if we did not stop conducting military strikes over this?
Let’s also not forget the long history of wars our country has faced where there were significant civilian casualties.
Israel has done just about everything it can on this front to keep civilian deaths as low as possible, but the cowardly manner in which Hamas conducts itself is going to result in civilians being killed.
But do you know how this can be lessened even further? How about Palestine assist Israel in rooting out and destroying Hamas instead of protecting these terrorists?
I am still baffled why nobody on the left is calling out Palestine on this front, and they regularly seem to forget this war was started because Hamas broke the cease-fire, invaded Israel, then proceeded to torture, rape, and kill innocent civilians.
