Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy came out of left field with a provocative idea that would likely have Democrats screaming for the impeachment of President Joe Biden.
On Sunday, a rejuvenated McCarthy who is suddenly much more popular than his successor Mike Johnson, appeared on “MediaBuzz” on Fox News where he said that Biden could intervene in the Stormy Daniels “hush money” case by using his power to influence the Justice Department to postpone the trial until after the election.
McCarthy’s suggestion was so stunning that it nearly knocked host Howard Kurtz off his chair because it would be a massive favor for former President Donald J. Trump who is almost certain to be found guilty in what millions of Americans already see as a process that’s rigged against him.

Kurtz began the segment by reading s statement from Biden in which he denied that he’s been influencing the multiple lawfare persecutions of Trump, an almost certain lie.
“His lack of ethics has nothing to do with me. I have not once talked to anyone in my administration about Trump’s legal problems,” Biden said, with Kurtz asking McCarthy, “What proof do you have to the contrary?”
“Isn’t it come out before, too where he even in his own words proves that’s not true?” McCarthy shot back. “When he was complaining to, in his staff about Trump and the legal issues?”
“Wait, isn’t there a difference between complaining privately to your staff and trying to meddle with the levers of justice?” Kurtz responded.
“I think fairness is a word that’s probably a really powerful word in America. Is it really fair that the nominee for one party is now within, is in a trial this close to a presidency?” McCarthy responded. Also is it actually fair to the voters? Think for instance how would Biden have handled this?
“A New York Post newspaper came out during the last election running a story about his family, what did he do?” McCarthy asked. “Well now the secretary of state who was part of his campaign, went and got 51 people, former CIA directors and intel to put a notice out to say this is Russian propaganda,” referring to the “Spies who lie” who got together to pen a letter that the damning information on Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.

“Then they put pressure on companies to say that you can’t repost that. So the most powerful companies that get news couldn’t repost a story,” he added. “To be fair, why wouldn’t the president take a different position?”
Why wouldn’t Joe Biden, caring about the voters say, “You know what? This is wrong. If I had nothing to do with this, they should not have this trial right now so the American people could actually spend time on what the issues are…I think that’s even, that would be the real position this Biden to take.”
Kurtz replied, “Hold on — so you’re saying you did want President Biden, or you do want him, to meddle with the justice system, just in favor of Donald Trump?”
“No, I want his opinion to be fair. I want his opinion to look for the American people in fairness. Who in America thinks it’s right that if Joe Biden was on trial right now beforehand, or that President Trump? And really, they’ve already looked at this issue how many times? And really from the standpoint..,” McCarthy said, referring to the ginned-up charges brought by Soros-backed Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.
After noting that the prosecution’s star witness is Trump’s disgraced former attorney Michael Cohen, a convicted felon and liar with an ax to grind, the ex-speaker said. ‘But it goes back to one question, does anybody in America believe President Trump [sic] would be holding this trial now if he wasn’t running for president?”
“That’s the number one issue,” he said. “So even if you dislike President Trump, you should stand up for fairness in America and say this is wrong. This should not go on.”
A curveball indeed but the trial is already showing signs of becoming a disastrous dumpster fire for the Democrats and by taking McCarthy’s hint, Biden could quell criticism – including from Trump – that the trial is election interference.
