Republicans had long complained about apparent mismanagement within the party. The former leaders of the Republican National Committee had been accused of wasting money on unimportant things. Meanwhile, the party continued to struggle to produce significant election results—even while Joe Biden crippled his party.
A major shakeup has taken place, as the top Republican National Committee leaders stepped down. Michael Whatley and Lara Trump are now the co-chairs of the party.
Trump had vowed to devote every last penny of funds to winning in November. She has made bold promises to ensure the party runs “lean and mean,” taking advantage of every opportunity to turn out the vote. And now, the new GOP leadership just took steps to make the organization even leaner.
From The Post Millennial:
More than 60 people were fired from Republican National Committee on Monday after the organization has come under new leadership. Co-chairs Lara Trump and Michael Whatley have been cleaning house…Fox News reported that “a major shakeup” was underway at the Republican National Committee…
Lara Trump and Whatley have been hand-picked by Donald Trump to lead the party as the nation heads into the general election in November.
Bloodbath at the Republican National Committee is underway. 60+ firings just today.
This is excellent. The anti-Trump sleeper cells all have to go.
The Republican National Committee is getting ready to win.

The new leaders of the Republican National Committee just fired sixty people from their staff. According to insiders like Charlie Kirk, Trump and Whatley are “cleaning house” in the runup to November.
Kirk said that these staffers were anti-Trump “sleeper cells” within the Republican National Committee. It is no big surprise that new leadership would dismiss old staffers. Those employees might have been loyal to McDaniel, the former Republican National Committee head, and accustomed to her style of leadership.
If Trump does intend to make the GOP much more effective at turning out votes, that requires fresh ideas and new employees to make them happen. It is also likely that those staffers were “anti-Trump” as Kirk suggested, and would have been unwilling to help him win in November.
Lara Trump stunned Republicans when she called on the party to use early voting, mail-in ballots, and even ballot harvest where legal to gain an upper hand over Democrats. The left has long used these methods to secure close elections. Trump’s plans stand to bring the GOP into the 21st Century, in the hopes of defeating the increasingly socialist Democratic Party.
Key Takeaways:
- The new leaders of the Republican National Committee just fired sixty staffers.
- Reports indicate these were anti-Trump “sleeper cells.”
- Michael Whatley and Lara Trump have promised to improve the GOP’s ability to win elections.
