Got your six: Nebraska announces they’ll send law enforcement to help Texas secure the border

LINCOLN, NE- Governor Pete Ricketts (R) has announced that the state of Nebraska will send about 25 state troopers down to the U.S.-Mexico border to aid Texas officials with the nation’s ongoing illegal border crossing crisis.

In the announcement, Ricketts said that he will be sending Nebraska State Patrol troopers specifically to the Del Rio, Texas area to partner with the Texas Department of Public Safety. The plan is to provide law enforcement assistance for no longer than 16 days.

Ricketts said:

“Nebraska is stepping up to help Texas respond to the ongoing crisis on their border with Mexico. The disastrous policies of the Biden-Harris Administration created an immigration crisis on the border. While the federal government has fall short in its response, Nebraska is happy to step up to provide assistance to Texas as they work to protect their communities and keep people safe.”

Nebraska is responding to a request for assistance from emergency management officials in the State of Texas. The request was made through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, which is a partnership of state emergency management agencies.

Reportedly, the announcement comes after Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) asked states to help them with the wave of illegal immigration pouring into their states as a result of the Biden Administration’s massive Catch and Release operation.

Both governors called on other states to provide law enforcement assistance to help with securing the border and arresting illegal immigrants making illegal border crossings. Governors Abbott and Ducey previously declared state of emergency in their respective border regions.

The two governors wrote in a letter:

“When it comes to the Biden Administration’s open-border disaster, our greatest need is for additional law enforcement personnel and equipment. With your help, we can apprehend more of these perpetrators of state and federal crimes before they can cause problems in your state.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) also recently announced that he will be deploying law enforcement officers from 12 of the state’s police agencies to the U.S.-Mexico border to assist Texas and Arizona.

DeSantis said:

“America’s border security crisis impacts every state and every American. The Biden Administration ended policies implemented by President Trump that were curbing illegal immigration, securing our border, and keeping Americans safe.

“Governors Abbott and Ducey recently sent out a call for help to every state in the nation, needing additional law enforcement manpower and other resources to aid with border security. I’m proud to announce today that the state of Florida is answering the call. Florida has your back.”

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that in May 2021, CBP encountered 180,034 persons attempting entry along the Southwest Border. This total represented a 1 percent increase over April 2021.

That is nearly a 700 percent increase in illegal immigration compared to the same time in 2020 when former President Donald Trump implemented fierce border controls. During Fiscal Year 2021, which began on October 1, 2020, Border Patrol agents apprehended a total of 897,213 illegal immigrants.

This is up from only 229,593 for the same period last year, a 291 percent increase. These apprehensions include 636,892 single adults; 78,513 illegal immigrant families; and 181,808 unaccompanied minors.

After apprehending border crossers, the Biden Administration is releasing tens-of-thousands into American communities, often by putting them up in hotels along the border before sending them on buses and domestic commercial flights into the U.S. interior.

Current projections predict that about 1.2 million border crossers will be encountered at the border this year with potentially hundreds-of-thousands more crossing illegally, undetected by federal immigration officials.

Reportedly, President Joe Biden’s first year in the White House is set to be “among the ten worst years for illegal immigration” in United States history.

House Dems pass “No Ban Act” after terrorist suspects from Yemen caught at U.S.-Mexico border

April 23rd, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.– On Wednesday, April 21st, House Democrats passed a plan that would make it extremely difficult for any president to impose a travel ban to protect the citizens of America and would also allow individuals to sue when a president does impose such a ban.

The legislation has been titled the “National Origin-Based Anti-discrimination for Nonimmigrants or the “No Ban Act” and it would limit a president’s authority to issue travel bans without first consulting with Congress.

The legislation also opens the process up to litigation by foreign nationals in the U.S. who are “harmed by such a restriction.”

According to the legislation:

“The President may temporarily restrict the entry of any aliens or class of aliens after the Department of State determines that the restriction would address specific and credible facts that threaten U.S. interests such as security or public safety.”

Included in the summary of H.R. 1333 is the following:

The bill also imposes limitations on such restrictions, such as requiring the President, State Department, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to

(1) only issue a restriction when required to address a compelling government interest, and

(2) narrowly tailor the suspension to use the least restrictive means to achieve such an interest; and

Before imposing a restriction, the State Department and DHS shall consult with Congress. The State Department and DHS shall report to Congress about the restriction within 48 hours of the restriction’s imposition. If such a report is not made, the restriction shall immediately terminate.

Reportedly, all 217 House Democrats and one Republican, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), supported the plan. The House Democrats’ passage of H.R. 1333 comes after a recent report revealed that two illegal immigrants from Yemen were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Following the background checks, both were found to be listed on the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List and No-Fly List. Shortly after the report was made public, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki attempted to downplay the national security threat of illegal immigration at the southern border. She said:

“First, let me convey that these sets of incidents are very uncommon. While this is rare, this is a reflection of Border Patrol doing their job.”

Dan Stein with the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said in a statement:

“Just a week or so after we learned that terrorists are exploiting the Biden border crisis, the House now wants to make it easier for them to waltz in the front door by stripping presidents, current and future, of the authority to bar entry to foreign nationals based on legitimate security concerns.”

Currently, the U.S. continues to have travel bans on China, Iran, Europe, Brazil, and South Africa as a result of the coronavirus. President Joe Biden kept former President Trump’s travel ban on China after previously having called it “xenophobic” and “hysteria.”

Biden has ended Trump’s travel ban that prevented immigration from foreign countries considered exporters of state-sponsored terrorism. Biden also ended Trump’s order that halted a number of visa programs to prioritize jobless Americans for U.S. jobs.

In June 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court reaffirmed in a 5-4 decision that presidents do have the authority to limit the entry of ant such group of foreign nationals from the U.S. in the interests of the nation.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority, stating that:

“Admission and exclusion of foreign nationals is a fundamental sovereign attribute exercised by the Government’s political departments largely immune from judicial control.”

He added that the president has extraordinary broad discretion under 8 U.S.C. § 1182(f) to exclude illegal immigrants when he or she believes doing so is in the nation’s interests.

Former acting ICE director slams Biden for blaming Trump for current border crisis: ‘They planned this whole thing’

March 15th, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC- A former Trump administration official lit into the Biden administration this past weekend, taking them to task over attempting to lay blame on former President Donald Trump for the disaster at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Tom Homan, former acting ICE director addressed claims that the current crisis at the border was “planned” during last year’s presidential campaign.

Homan, appearing on Fox News’ Fox and Friends told anchor Pete Hegseth that the current administration has undermined the previous, very successful policies implemented under the Trump administration where it concerns immigration policy, including the since-scuttled remain in Mexico policy.

Homan told Hegseth that in 2020, the number of alien minors entering the U.S. was down 70% from the year before. He also said that illegal entry into the country was down anywhere between 50-80%, depending on which month was being looked at.

“Last month, Joe Biden’s policy created a 300% increase in alien children,” Homan said.

“The border is not secure because the Biden administration has undone all the success of the Trump administration. You got a job to do, educate yourself, give me a call, I’ll tell you how to fix it,” Homan continued. “But you can’t go on national TV and say this is President Trump’s fault.”

Homan then went on to lay the blame squarely on Biden and the Democrats, claiming they planned the crisis during last year’s presidential campaign.

“When Joe Biden made those promises during the campaign of ending ICE detention, ending the remain in Mexico program, giving amnesty and DACA and healthcare…”

Homan said those promises are directly responsible for the current border situation, noting that “when you make those types of promises you know they’re going to come.”

He further blasted members of the Trump administration, as well as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for going on national TV and laying the blame on Trump and his team. Homan also said that Democrats cannot go on national television and admit to the American people that they had sold out the country to win an election.

“When you make those types of promises, you know they’re going to come. SO they can’t go on national TV and say we sold out America to win an election. Joe Biden can’t say ‘I folded to the left to get votes and gave up the security of the border.’

“Again, the most secure border we’ve ever seen under President Trump.”

Hegseth then brought up the fact that Alejandro Mayorkas, Department of Homeland Security Secretary had ordered FEMA to the border to help with the situation down there, noting that agency typically deals with “storms, floods and other major disasters, and questioned Homan if this was an admission that the border situation was in fact a “disaster.”

“Absolutely,” Homan said. “Actions speak louder than words,” while then noting that FEMA’s own mission statement, “Helping people before, during and after a catastrophic disaster or crisis” accurately describes the current situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“It is a disaster; it is a crisis,” Homan said.

He also noted that “you never saw anyone coming across the border wearing a Trump shirt” while noting that a lot of them were wearing Biden tee shirts coming across.

Meanwhile, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) laid blame squarely on Biden for the surge of migrants crossing into the country at the southern border.

On Fox News Sunday, Cassidy told host Chris Wallace in response to a question as to what degree Biden’s policies have caused the crisis.

“Empirically it is entirely. You can’t help but notice that the administration changes and there is a surge,” Cassidy said.

Cassidy also noted that one of Biden’s advisers had made a statement in Spanish that the border was not closed, and only changed her mind and claim in English that she had misspoken.

“I can tell you the Spanish version is being heard, not the English,” he said, noting that message is resonating with those coming to the U.S. and those who are sending their children here, even if it means putting them at risk.

“And so when people think they can get in, they begin sending their unaccompanied child on a train ride across Mexico where she may be kidnapped and trafficked, on the hope they’re going to be waved through at the border.”

Cassidy also addressed Mayorkas’ deployment of FEMA to the border.

“They’re sending FEMA for reinforcements—not for today, not for tomorrow, but for three weeks from now,” he said.

Law Enforcement Today has been reporting on the border crisis for months. For more on our reporting we invite you to:

WASHINGTON, DC- Texas Rep. Michael McCaul (R) issued stern words of caution on Tuesday, warning that by summer there will be “probably somewhere around a million people trying to get into this country illegally.”

McCaul, appearing on Fox News Channel’s “The Story” slammed Joe Biden’s border policy, accusing him of creating a “humanitarian crisis.”

“President Biden says he wants us to be humane. He’s actually created a humanitarian crisis.

These poor children, they get trafficked all the way up that dangerous route. And now, we don’t have enough detention space to put them in, and then you’ve got the COVID crisis down there as well. I think they have created the Biden border crisis. They need to fix it,” McCaul said as reported in Breitbart News.

Earlier Tuesday on Fox Business’ “Mornings With Maria,” McCaul said that it was “easier to cross the border illegally into the United States” than it is to tour the United States Capitol after Biden has reversed nearly all of former President Trump’s immigration policies.

Newsmax reported that McCaul said:

“He’s allowing them to come in without applying in Mexico. The catch and release policies are gone now. He stopped the building of the wall.”

McCaul contrasted the halting of construction of the border wall with the razor-topped fence that has been constructed around the Capitol.

He also sharply criticized Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas for sending the wrong message to those who are thinking of entering the country illegally.

“When the secretary of Homeland Security says, you know, don’t come now but maybe come later, it sends exactly the wrong message,” McCaul told Maria Bartiromo.

“We’ve seen this move before when you interviewed me on the Rio Grande River during the Obama administration. We are now going back to that same era.”

On “The Story,” McCaul slammed the administration’s approach to the minors who are entering the country.

“I think it’s not only a threat to these children who are being exploited, but—and they know the laws in our country.

But it’s also a threat to Americans, this population coming in. Biden has cut off these agreements with Mexico, Central America, where they’d have to stay in Mexico to apply for asylum.

“And now, they’re—I’ve seen this before, Martha, and I predict this, by summer you’re going to see, as my governor just said, probably somewhere around  a million people trying to get into this country illegally.

And as I’ve said before, it’s ironic that you can get into this country illegally easier than you can get a tour of this Capitol right behind me,” he told anchor Martha MacCallum.

This is nothing new for McCaul. In 2019, he wrote an op-ed on Fox News in which he slammed Democrats for blocking meaningful border legislation some 18 times from coming to the House floor for a vote.

He had accused Democrats back then of “playing politics with people’s lives” while the crisis at the southern border “worsens by the minute.”

Speaking to Bartiromo this week, McCaul expressed concern about the surge in illegals entering the country who are COVID-positive and the fact that even though tests for COVID are taking place, those people, due to “catch and release” are cut loose into the country.

“They test them and then release them onto the streets and they’re trying to figure out how to deal with this policy,” McCaul said.

“It’s absolute chaos down there, Maria and it’s sad because we made a lot of success triumphs under the prior administration to secure the border which is so important, and I believe that Biden with the stroke of a pen has reversed all of this.”

McCaul said that Biden now owns the crisis at the border.

“Within a month, they’ve created a crisis at the border. These are very sophisticated traffickers. Maria, I was a federal prosecutor down there for many years. Their business, they know what they’re doing, they know what our policies and laws are.”

He also blasted the message being sent by the Biden administration, calling it “the worst.”

“It’s basically we’re open for business, come on in, and so now they’re dealing with the crisis at hand,” he said.

“You’ve seen how dangerous it can be. It puts these children at risk as well. But also, the bad actors that could come into the United States worries me, and the drugs and the potential terrorists. This is really sad to see in my home state and all along the southwest border.”
