Singer Macy Gray has continued her call to replace the American Flag, claiming it represents “divisiveness and hate.”
Appearing in an interview wiht FOX 11’s Susan Hirasuna, Gray asked “Why do we have to celebrate a flag that now represents divisiveness and hate?”
“I shouldn’t have to salute it, I shouldn’t have to honor it, I shouldn’t have to pledge to it,” the “I Try” she continued. “All I’m saying is let’s redesign the flag for the rest of us who aren’t a part of that tribe.”
“We want to keep the red and blue because the red stands for courage, the blue stands for vigilance, integrity and all these things and then there’s the white, which the Smithsonian says means purity. So, I’m saying, which I don’t think anyone can disagree with me on this is that America is not exactly pure,” she later added in the interview.
This was the design proposed by Gray to replace the current American Flag.
OPINION: “Sixty-two years later, in 2021, we have changed and it’s time for a reset, a transformation. One that represents all states and all of us,” writes singer Macy Gray. https://t.co/VTezKfjxdr

Several conservatives fired back at Gray over her suggestion including, Governor Kristi Noem and Rep. Lauren Boebert.
A new flag?! No thanks. Old Glory still waves as a symbol of liberty and justice for all.https://t.co/Rfrn5M3exz

194 of them don’t have the American flag.
