Donald Trump Made This Surprising Confession About Amy Coney Barrett

Amy Coney Barrett shifting the Supreme Court to the right was supposed to be Donald Trump’s crowning legacy as president.

But things don’t always go according to plan.

And Donald Trump made this surprising confession about Amy Coney Barrett.

The Supreme Court once again let down conservatives with a spate of decisions handing the left victory after victory.

Two of the cases where Barrett and fellow Trump appointee Brett Kavanaugh voted with the left were in upholding Obamacare by dismissing a lawsuit by the state of Texas on the technical ground of standing, and a very narrow decision ruling the city of Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by not contracting to the Catholic Social Services for foster care over the group’s opposition to homosexual marriage.

Justices Thomas, Gorsuch and Alito wanted to overturn a 1990 precedent that allows the government to discriminate against religious liberty if the law applies to all Americans broadly, but Barrett and Kavanaugh instead voted with the Court’s three liberals on a ruling so narrow it will likely end up as a defeat for conservatives that value religious liberty.

In an interview with Just the News’ “Water Cooler” host David Brody, Trump expressed unhappiness with Kavanaugh and Barrett’s most recent rulings.

“I fought very hard for them,” Trump stated. “But I was very disappointed with a number of their rulings.”

And while Trump expressed frustration with Barrett and Kavanaugh, he would not second-guess nominating them.

“Second guessing does no good,” Trump added. “But I was disappointed with a number of rulings that they made.”

Barrett and Kavanaugh have not impressed in their time on the Court.

When the left wins Supreme Court cases they win sweeping victories that change American jurisprudence.

Last year the Court handed down a six to three ruling granting transgenders special rights.

When conservatives score wins, Chief Justice John Roberts makes sure the decisions are narrow and technical so as not to move the law in a conservative direction in an effort to appease the liberal establishment in Washington by assuaging their fears that conservative justices really aren’t that scary.

Trump expected Kavanaugh and Barrett to perform like conservative stalwarts Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

Instead, they appear to be closet liberals that track closer to Chief Justice John Roberts.

Conservatives have not been happy with Barrett and Kavanaugh’s performance in the Court.

They seem more focused on making sure the media writes nice things about them than upholding the Constitution.

Donald Trump admitted he shares these frustrations.

But since nothing can be done about the matter, Trump refuses to look back to the past or Monday morning quarterback his decision to nominate Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh.
