A small group of pro-abortion Catholic Democrats in Congress are already totally out of step with the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church but now they are openly threatening the nation’s Catholic bishops to deny them communion because they support killing babies.
In a letter written after the bishops voted to begin the process of crafting a document related to communion and public life, that could rebuke pro-abortion politicians like Joe Biden, a group of 60 Catholic Democrats released a letter in response.
“We believe the separation of church and state allows for our faith to inform our public duties and best serve our constituents,” they said in a three-page “Statement of Principles” letter released Friday afternoon.
“The Sacrament of Holy Communion is central to the life of practicing Catholics, and the weaponization of the Eucharist to Democratic lawmakers for their support of abortion is contradictory,” they added.
Cheri Bustos, Joaquin Castro, Gerry Connolly, Rosa DeLauro, Debbie Dingell, Ruben Gallego, Marie Newman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Jackie Speier are some of the Democrats to sign the letter.
Some of the members took to social media to air their threats further.

“Next time I go to Church, I dare you to deny me Communion,” pro-abortion Congressman Ted Lieu, a Democrat of California, and a Catholic, with a massive 1.6 million followers on Twitter, threatened the Bishops.
Another California Democrat, Rep. Jared Huffman, suggested the church should lose its tax-exempt status.
“If they’re going to politically weaponize religion by “rebuking” Democrats who support women’s reproductive choice, then a “rebuke” of their tax-exempt status may be in order,” he said.
As LifeNews reported, nation’s Catholic bishops have voted overwhelmingly in favor of drafting a document on communion that could rebuke pro-abortion politicians like Joe Biden depending on how it’s worded.
Members of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have voted to draft a new document on the Eucharist, after conservative bishops lobbied their colleagues to speak out more vocally about abortion advocates like Biden who flout the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church.
Meanwhile, a defiant Joe Biden essentially dared the nation’s Catholic bishops to deny him communion, saying he doubted they would follow through on any rebuke of his radical abortion agenda.
