Authorities apprehended the suspect thought to be responsible for shooting and killing several people in Pennsylvania on Saturday after an hours-long standoff in New Jersey, according to several reports.
Police arrested 26-year-old Andre Gordon near a residence in Trenton, New Jersey, about eight hours after he allegedly killed three people in Falls Township, a Philadelphia suburb, on Saturday morning, according to The Associated Press. Gordon is alleged to have stolen a vehicle and fled to Trenton after shooting and killing three people in Pennsylvania, and subsequently barricaded himself in the Trenton residence throughout the ensuing standoff with law enforcement personnel.
Authorities arrested Gordon without incident while he was walking on a street “two blocks away” from the residence where he was thought to be holed up, Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora said, according to CNN. Gordon appears to have left the Trenton residence at some point before police were able to cordon off the area, Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson said, according to CNN.

According to CNN, Wilson’s statement was the following: “However, apparently, before the perimeter was completed, the suspect was able to get out of the location unseen. However, our information was that he was still in there… The suspect was actually walking on New York Avenue… He was stopped and identified and taken into custody.”
Gordon is accused of murdering his sister and stepmother around 9:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, as authorities revealed in a press conference held on Saturday afternoon. He then reportedly traveled to another location in Falls Township, where he killed the mother of two of his children before stealing a vehicle and escaping to Trenton, according to the AP. Initially, it was thought that Gordon had taken hostages and barricaded himself in Trenton. However, later reports indicated that the police successfully extracted several individuals who were inside the residence during the incident.
