Self-described “super mayor” Tiffany Henyard vetoed a resolution seeking to investigate her spending following allegations that she misused taxpayer money on lavish trips and her own $1 million police detail.
The Dolton, Illinois, village board unanimously voted to open a probe into Henyard, calling on her to submit the village’s financial records and inviting the FBI to conduct its own investigation.
Henyard, however, issued a veto on Monday, claiming the resolution was the result of personal attacks against her and stemmed from one-sided narratives.
At a city council meeting on Monday, Henyard thanked the people for “keeping me in your prayers” and defiantly declared, “As you can see, our village, our community, myself, we are under attack. It’s a shame that people can come to meetings and just tell one side of the stories and not get the entire side of both stories.”
“I’m going to always fight for what’s right, and I always stay the course. And I will be victorious when all the dust clears,” she vowed.

Village board members have now vowed to override Henyard’s veto during next month’s meeting.

On February 22, Fox News reported that the FBI is investigating Henyard’s abuse of public fund as well.
Henyard has faced massive backlash over her self-promotion and brazen comments.
During a city council meeting in early February, Henyard erupted in fury as she slammed other Black people who were criticizing her over local budget issues.
“You all should be ashamed of yourselves because you all are black. You all are black! And you all sitting up here beating and attacking a black woman that’s in power,” Henyard had raged, adding, “You all forget I’m the leader!”
Dolton, Illinois is a small town of around 20,000 people, located about 20 miles south of Chicago.

The Chicago suburb of Dolton, Illinois is entirely broke. So much so that it’s in danger of having its police cruisers repossessed.
And yet its mayor, Tiffany Henyard, plunders city coffers to put up billboards that are nothing more than ads promoting herself.
