During a White House COVID-19 briefing on Thursday, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said that People who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no longer need to wear masks while indoors or outdoors or socially distance in either large or small gatherings.
“Today, CDC is updating our guidance for fully vaccinated people,” Walensky said.
How magnanimous of her.
Officials advised that fully vaccinated people should still wear masks when they find themselves in crowded indoor settings such as while on public transportation and in hospitals, prisons, rock concerts, and gosh, the list is endless.
Why should fully vaccinated people have to worry about this at all? Is the administration saying that the vaccines don’t work? How else can they say that you should continue to wear masks after being fully vaccinated when you find yourself in crowded situations? Either the vaccines work or they do not. There is no in-between.
“Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing. If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.”
“We have all longed for this moment when we can get back to some sense of normalcy,” Walensky said. “Based on the continuing downward trajectory of cases, the scientific data on the performance of our vaccines, and our understanding of how the virus spreads, that moment has come for those who are fully vaccinated.”
People who are vaccinated and develop symptoms should throw on a mask and get themselves tested, the CDC director warned. Again, I am back to asking do these vaccines work or not? It’s a very simple question, one that apparently the CDC director cannot answer.
Walensky also warned that there’s always a chance the pandemic situation could take a turn and get worse, and the nation may need to return to pieces of the earlier guidance. The Democrats always have to add a spoiler into their statements so that when they lock us down again they can say it was in there.
Immunocompromised Americans should consult a doctor before giving up masks, the CDC director said, telling us that if our case counts go back up the guidance could change. When they say guidance they really mean totalitarian mandates.
“This virus can be unpredictable, so if things get worse there is always a chance we need to make a change to these recommendations,” she said. And again, why do people who are fully vaccinated have to worry about the virus being unpredictable?
The CDC is saying that people need to go back to wearing masks and to get tested as soon as possible if they develop COVID-like symptoms. I have to keep asking, why would they develop COVID-like symptoms if they are fully vaccinated? either the vaccines work or they do not.
People are also advised to slap on a face diaper once again and get tested right away if they develop possible COVID-19 symptoms, Walensky said.
When she was pressured on whether public criticism was why the CDC updated their recommendations, Walensky said the CDC was simply following the science. But they are not following the science because the science says that vaccines work and if the vaccines work then you don’t have to worry about getting COVID symptoms and wearing masks again. It seems as though these speeches are just an academic exercise. By the way, these are the same people who believe that if a man puts on a dress and identifies as a woman he is in fact “scientifically” a real woman. Nuff said.
“I want to be clear that we followed the science here. While this may serve as an incentive for some people to get vaccinated, that is not the purpose, our purpose here is as a public health agency to follow the science and to follow where we are with regard to the science and what is safe for individuals to do,” she said.
